    • Of course he will what this guy is doing is tremendous.History will stand by him for having warned people about the dangers of embracing Islam as just another religion.

  2. I hadn’t heard anything from Bat Ye’or for a while so its good to know she is still active. Her work on the decline of the Church in its eastern heartland should probably be better known than ‘Eurabia’ (which if it is referenced is either misunderstood or willfully traduced).

    Re DME ed. 2 I look forward to its publication, but I think some people are putting too much emphasis on trying to prove Muhammad’s non-existence as a means of convincing Muslims to leave Islam/convert rather than other relions’ positive message-or perhaps the Messenger’s character, based on sources which believing Muslims are confident of. The DME case is not as strong as it looks-hence my ‘Counterblast to the Revisionists’ book and runs the risk of too much confidence being placed in it by people who desperately want it to be true.

    • There are other reasons to stufy this issue besides hoping it will lead to Muslims leaving Islam–including the mere fact that Islam forbids such investigations.

  3. I encourage all Jihad Watch readers to read Bat Ye’or’s books on Dhimmitude. The legal laws in Islamic Sharia that promote Islamic supremacy, curtails the civic and political rights of Christians and Jews, primes Muslims to conduct violence against Christians and Jews.
    I also call upon Bat Ye’or to expand her research on Ibn Qayyem Al-Jouziya, the Hanbali 12th century imam- pupil of Ibn Taymiyya- who authored the Laws of Dhimmitude in Sharia. Laws taught in all mosques around the world, including the US

  4. You are exactly right, Francis. Many non-Muslims will be placing high hope that Robert Spencer’s new “revelation” will cause the Muslim world to abandon their belief in Muhammad. Even the name change to “Qutham” only leads to a false hope since 1.6 Billion Muslims and all Islamic governments will need to accept Mr. Spencer’s conjecture in his attempt to negate the founder of their 1400+ year belief system. This idea runs parallel to the “Reformers” who believe that the radical and violent teachings of Islam within the Qur’an and Ahadith can be abrogated and result in a form of Moderate Islam throughout the world. The likelihood of Muhammad being totally disproved as being a real person or of Islam being reformed while still believing in Muhammad is highly questionable. Both views are unrealistic hopes by folks who do not truly comprehend the intense indoctrination of the Muslim mindset that has sought to destroy non-Muslim societies and attain global dominance for the past 1400+ years. The West needs to face reality. Rather than attempting to change Islam or discredit the founder of Islam, free societies need to identify that ideology as an existential Enemy Threat Doctrine. Western societies have been gullible and have not adequately prepared themselves to defend their lives and future from the fundamental believers in Islam. Instead, they welcome and accept Muslim refugees whose real intention is establishing a global Caliphate to control the world with Sharia law at all costs and by any means necessary, including deception.

    • Everything you write may well be true. In my view it is merely a worthy and fascinating historical investigation.
      If it means one or two Muslims leave the faith then we’ll and good but Mr Spencer raises many topics that are hard to argue with.

While there are many topics by Mr. Spencer that you may find hard to argue with, the fact remains in what Turkey PM Erdogan is quoted as declaring, “Islam is Islam.” Therein is the point of contention for those who wish that it could be otherwise. By what you wrote regarding one or two Muslims leaving the faith (through Mr. Spencer’s writings) then it is apparent that the conclusion is this: “Islam Is The Problem, Apostasy Is The Solution.” Would you agree?

        • Hi. Thanks for your reply. Certainly I agree with all you wrote. I would love to think that Mr Spencers book would lead to mass apostasy but it ain’t going to happen sadly.

      • Mike, Robert Spencer has never claimed that this book is going to put an end to Islam. To think a book is worthless unless it manages this is odd.

        • Thank you very much for your reply, gravenimage, and for acknowledging that Mr. Spencer’s book titled “Did Muhammad Exist” will not bring an end to Islam. However, what is quite “odd” is how elected officials, military leaders, educators and clergy throughout Western societies continue to give Islam the benefit of the doubt. Rather, Islam remains a protected religion instead of being designated as to what it truly is; an Enemy Threat Doctrine to Western Civilization. I am sure you have read Sun Tzu’s warning in his book, “The Art of War.” By his analogy for military strategies, we are certainly not going to be on the winning side:

          “If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.” – Sun Tzu

        • It is *also* true that so many in the West–including those who are supposed to be leaders–whitewash Islam.

  6. You appear to be the delusional one . I have no idea where the idea came about that this book would lead to mass apostasy.
    This subject is a worthy historical investigation which is in itself deserving of praise.
    P.s. what a gross idea that an author might want to make a profit after months of research(sarc off)
