Almost all parties are now in favor of a tougher deportation policy. This case shows how this works in practice: The Afghan Wahab M. (23) cruelly raped a pensioner (72) in Traiskirchen. He served only a small part of his prison sentence – and has lived in Bad Vöslau ever since.
“I can no longer hear these Sunday sermons: Whenever something happens to an asylum seeker, Austrian politicians firmly assert that everything will now change and that people will be deported more consistently. It’s all wrong,” the Viennese lawyer provides pretty good evidence of his opinion: his client, a pensioner (72) living near Traiskirchen, was attacked, injured and raped by an Afghan asylum seeker (23) on September 1, 2015. “This perpetrator was quickly investigated and sentenced to 20 months’ imprisonment during a trial,” reports the lawyer.
But the rapist only had to serve a small part of the sentence – he was free again after 12 months. And then – despite this crime – he did not have to leave Austria: The Afghan Wahab M. lives in Bad Vöslau to this day, as a request to the central register of residents revealed.
Only 5000 euros in compensation for the victim
So the criminal was not deported, although he massively abused the hospitality rights. The Viennese lawyer told the eXXpress: “It was outrageous that the public prosecutor accepted the mild verdict at the trial. And through such lax law enforcement, violent bogus asylum seekers are motivated to commit such crimes.”
The Afghan’s victim still suffers from a severe post-traumatic stress syndrome. The pensioner was awarded only 5,000 euros in compensation for pain and suffering at the trial before the regional court in Wiener Neustadt. . .
In 5 years only 2164 Afghans left Austria
The Ministry of the Interior emphasizes that everything is being done to get criminal asylum seekers out of the country as quickly as possible. Unofficially, officials said to the eXXpress: “Due to the extensive legal advice from NGOs, the proceedings drag on for years.”
The latest figures on the deportations of Afghan citizens: From 2017 to May 2021, there were a total of 2,164 Afghans who left, of which 1,316 were compulsory. 848 Afghan citizens left Austria voluntarily.

Jim, you are right. John, you are mistaken in believing that Shari’ah is the solution for rape. Rape is in fact very common in Muslim lands, and things like marital rape, forced marriage, child rape, and the rape of Infidels are sacralized in Islam.

A mere 20 months for bashing and raping a 72 year old woman?
I find it hard to comprehend what, if anything is going through the minds of the judiciary to only give a 20 month sentence and then, then, let the animal out in only 12 months.
I wonder if the result would have been different if the victim had been the judges mother or grandmother?
Somehow I reckon the rapist would never see the light of day again if that was the case.
But when it is just one of the peasants, well who cares?

Our justice systems seem to have a problem prioritizing crimes. If you fail to pay your taxes you may get a longer sentence than for raping and beating a senior citizen. I guess we know where the is.
