An Anglo-Catholic religious revealed that a man who turned to Islam and then reverted back to Catholicism because of Pope Benedict XVI has once again embraced Islam because of his grievances with “Rome.”

“I gave pastoral care today to a Roman Catholic who had embraced Islam and returned to Catholicism due to the Papacy. He said, ‘that under Benedict XVI he saw genuine rules of play in a rudderless world’. Today he said that Rome is lost, and that the Qur’an is the road to truth,” tweeted Brother Seraphim Mary, OSF, who is a member of the Cisterian Order of the Holy Cross.

One Twitter user commented, “Fortunately, we don’t pick our Popes, we obey them”

Br. Seraphim Mary responded, “His point was more about providing clear doctrine, not blind obedience. The struggle seems rooted in needing an authority in matters of faith and morality in a time of mundane confusion.”…

  1. He should look to the words and actions of Christ and not to those of any Pope. Popes come and go but Christ is unchanging. I wonder what this man decided he did not like about the Christ of the Bible.

    • Let us follow Jesus Christ our Lord and He is the only role model not one else.

      • The pope is (as Robert Spencer has said many times) a ‘blind guide’. The pope is leading his church into the ditch of believing Islam is a non-political faith that is not INTRINSICALLY DANGEROUS and the greatest risk to world peace.

        The man who returned to Islam, may yet again decide to leave it. That is my prediction. Backward, counter-scientific, obscurantist Islam has nothing to offer the modern world.

      • Muslims are taught always to use takiya if it helps islam. Don´t accept any “conversion” to, Judaism, Christianity or other real religions from the muslims.
        According to the devil´s law sharia they MUST lie and pretend that they are not muslims.
        Get rid of them beat them and send them away . It would be good if they beat each eather

        • Dear Maria: there are going to be people of insight and goodwill who escape from the grasp of Islam. Some of them may convert to Christianity while others opt instead to become freethinkers. Some of them, like Ibn Warraq, have become powerful critics of Islam. While it may be true that some purported ex-Muslims may seek to infiltrate the ranks of non-Muslims under false pretenses it makes no sense to reject all refugees from Islam based only k on n the suspicion that a few of them might be insincere. We have to treat people with civility and some presumption of sincerity unless and until our discernment detects inconsistencies in behavior that then warrant our caution.

        • Good people do leave Islam. The idea that masses of Muslims are pretending to be apostates–something that Muslims punish with death–makes little sense.

          Most people who leave Islam do so for good. There are *very* few like this case.

          Then, the idea that Infidels go around beating Muslims is completely false. Just calumny.

    In the Roman Catholic religion, the pope is the Christ’s vicar and nothing more.

    • Quid est Veritas (John 18:38)–This should stand as a stern warning to us all. Pontius Pilate had the Truth, who was also the Way and the Life, standing right in front of him, yet missed it. Yet Pilate ordered Christ crucified. We do not know what ultimately happened to Pilate; he may have converted later on, or he may have gone down to death condemned. But he is remembered as the one under whom Christ suffered prior to his resurrection.

  4. For those here who STILL think Catholics have to “obey” the Pope, Catholic and not, that applies only when it comes to matters of the Faith; Immaculate Conception, the Virgin Birth, the Real Presence, and whatnot.

    When it comes to things like social justice, climate change, Islam is a religion of peace, socialism is great, etc., WE CATHOLICS can tell the Pope to go take a flying leap.

This person is no loss to Christianity or any other decent religion if he can’t see how vile and evil the Koran, and, indeed, all of Islam is.     If he believes that the qur’an is the ‘road to truth’ (sic), doesn’t that for all practical purposes make him a muslim? Or does he have to recite the shehada for that to happen?

If one were a real pedophile (I am not saying he is one), one would have two choices — a church condemning you and prepared to send you to gallows, and an islamic mosque glorifying pedophilia, providing you even more and younger, and promising you 72 virgins after you go kaboom with a suicide belt.
