Muslim Acid Attacks Come to New York

A few years ago I noted the  sharp growth in acid attacks in the UK.

While acid attacks are commonplace in certain Muslim countries, they were not normative to western ones. Until immigration reshaped the UK.

Acid attacks in London rose from 162 in 2012 to 454 last year. There have already been 199 acid attacks this year. Five acid attacks just happened in London in the space of little more than an hour.

Newham is the London borough with the highest number of acid attacks. It also has the second-highest percentage of Muslims in the UK. 398 acid attacks occurred in 5 years in the area named as “the most ethnically diverse district in England and Wales”. 33% of Newham consists of non-UK passport holders.

But surely that’s some sort of random coincidence.

Except that the place with the third-highest number of acid attacks is Tower Hamlets. Tower Hamlets is a Muslim no-go zone. It has one of the smallest native British populations in the country. 35% of the population is Muslim. Most of those are Bangladeshis with a healthy sprinkling of Somalis.

There were 84 acid attacks in what has been dubbed “The Islamic Republic of Tower Hamlets”.

Also, entirely by coincidence, Bangladesh has the highest rate of acid attacks in the world.

This may now be the highest-profile current acid attack in the US. And it involves a Pakistani Muslim young woman.

As CBS2’s Carolyn Gusoff reports, Nafiah Ikram is bravely speaking out after an incomprehensible attack.

On March 17, as she arrived home from work, walking from her car, she saw a man watching from the corner. He ran up to her and threw a cup of liquid in her face.

“I started to cry and, like, I was panicking. I was like, ‘Dad, someone threw something in my face!’ And he was like, ‘Oh my God, it’s acid,’” Nafiah said.

Acid burns are seared into her Arlington Avenue driveway, as are burns in her eye and throat.

“She was in the hospital for three weeks, and she’s still not able to eat properly. She can’t see anything good. Only one eye is working,” said her father Sheikh Ikram.

“I can just see colors, but that’s it,” Nafiah said.

“It’s been a horrible nightmare for us,” said her mother Sherina Mohammed.

The attack is not incomprehensible. It’s horrifying and evil, but commonplace in Muslim countries. The media keeps feeding the idea of a hate crime, but acid attacks are not how Americans commit hate crimes. This particular methodology, a cup of acidic liquid in the face, is typical of acid attacks in Pakistan, Bangladesh, etc… and is generally done to young women by men for reasons that are horribly evil, but not especially obscure.

The media obviously doesn’t want to go there. It’s much easier to keep suggesting that it’s Islamophobia rather than there might be something wrong with cultures where acid attacks are commonplace.

  1. This is another example of the moral evil in Islamic culture that has the consequence that such actions are customary and accepted. Of course, it probably is not common in some Muslim countries or localities. But it is another case where Muslims will interpret it as Muslim victimhood, but with the perpetrator being non-Muslim society. The typical response to crimes by Muslims is to say there should not be a backlash against innocent Muslims.

  2. What is often forgotten in all of this obfuscation of truth and facts is that
    the “free press” used to be a force for
    good and upholding and promoting positive values. Instead it has degenerated
    into a sadistic, self-serving, polarizing, fear mongering monster.
    As we see in the case of Ms. Ikram’s horrible, heartbreaking circumstance, the victims of politicizing the “free press” are often the poor and minorities.

    Many, many years ago, I was brought up and went to two quite excellent schools in East Ham (now the eastern half of Newham). Back in those good old days (and in the years before WW2), it was a very neat, clean, civilised, law-abiding and sought-after London suburb that people visited from miles around because of its cultural and other facilities, shops and general ambience. Dame Vera Lynn (the famous WW2 ‘Forces Sweetheart’) was a fairly typical East Ham girl of her day, along with quite a few others who later became ‘big names’ one way or another.

    Until I succeed in escaping from London altogether, I still have the good fortune of living in a very pleasant (at the moment) area just north of Newham. However, going ‘over the border’ has now become such an unpleasant experience that I absolutely avoid it at all costs. Despite most of the buildings being much the same as before, the place seems to have deteriorated virtually beyond recognition, and the description of my ‘home town’ in this article bears absolutely no resemblance whatsoever to the place in which I grew up. Sadly, virtually all the people I grew up with also went on to better things elsewhere, usually as far away from Newham as possible when it became patently obvious which way the place was heading.

    • As a fellow English refugee from London I sympathise. It’s very upsetting to have been effectively forced to leave the place I was born and brought up and where I brought up my own children. I lived in a different part of London – not as far gone as Newham, but going the same way.

      • This is terrible to hear. London is–or was until recently–one of the great cities of the world.

        Both my mother and aunt lived through the blitz serving with the British army there as young women, and my aunt lived in or near London until she passed away in her late 90s.

  4. During President Trump’s visit to New Delhi in 2020, moslems rioted and used acid to attack. This is a common modus operandi. You can watch this six minute video, even if you do not understand Hindi. The video shows a reporter showing aftermath of the riots. He will take you to a shop which was supposedly a music band shop. The business cards on the ground will say band’s name. Then he takes you to the inside of the shop, where a clandestine acid factory was operating. This acid was filled in water bottles and launched using make-shift sling shots from top of the buildings. The acid containers say “ganga jal” means water from Ganges river, which is a term used for holy water by Hindus. London police should inspect the back of the moslem owned shops to see whether acid factory is operating there.

  7. “Hate crime.” Well, it really is because islam is built on hatred and its adherents are taught to hate….hate each other, hate Jews, hate Christians, hate freedom, hate Truth, hate Law, hate little children, hate women, hate beauty, hate honesty, hate exposure, hate, hate, hate.

    And after they have learned to hate, they commit crimes….rape, murder, mutilation, torture, acid attacks, …
    It’s really too bad that the so-called authorities don’t recognize where the real hate comes in and why. And worse when they do and won’t admit to the Truth.

    Just about the only crime that can be committed due to love, is when someone believes they should help a loved one die in order to escape pain, or the crime of avenging another crime against a loved one…and even that has hate for the criminal.

    Using the term “hate crime” is just another way of covering over the Truth.

  8. While it’s clear from the above story that the victim was a muslimah, did they ever find out that the attacker was too?

      • The fact that the suspect was 6’2” tall rules out most of the pakistani because their average height is 5’5″. However, this kind of attack is usually conducted by a close family member because the lady was probably not wearing burka, not doing prayers properly, easting pepperoni pizza or had friends who were Hindus, Christians or Jews. Therefore, the family member potentially paid someone of their belief system but from other country such as somalia or middle east to conduct the attack.

        • There are certainy some Muslims who are over six fee tall. The idea that an Infidel would be attacking a Muslim woman with acid is far less plausible than are tall Muslims.

Men who follow such a Fascist Religious Cult as islam appear to be men that cannot think for themselves, they seem to be taught, at a young age, that females are their problem and its females that cause them to get angry, and so these females must cover up their body so they will not get raped, thereby proving that muslim men themselves admit they are rapists, now we see them throw acid in the faces of a female they cannot control, thereby proving they really are cowards, and not men in any real sense whatsoever.
    When I see Western females, protecting these muslim men and scream that islam means peace, it makes me rather sad to see such ignorance coming from these Western women as they are uniformed about what will happen to them once islam takes over Europe, which may well happen in their grand kids lifetime.
    After all the work the females in the Western World did in the 1960s for their equality cause and now its seems to be hip to go backwards.
    I sure am glad to be in my 70s as I may not see the demise of Europe, or the West.
    Acid used in the 1960s was of a rather different substance than what the word means today.
