Islam holds that there are more than twenty-five prophets, for the Qur’an says: “And we certainly sent into every nation a messenger, ‘Worship Allah and avoid Taghut [the rule of idolatry].'” (16:36) But Jozeph Paul Zhang is not among them, and Sharia dictates that by making his claim, he is blaspheming, and thus must be killed. But Interpol? This story doesn’t explain whether or not Interpol is actually involved. One would hope Interpol would tell the Indonesian police that they are not in the business of enforcing Sharia, but these days, you never know.
“Isis supporters want Indonesian who claimed to be ‘26th prophet’ beheaded for insulting Islam’s Prophet Mohammed,” by Amy Chew, South China Morning Post, April 20, 2021 (thanks to The Religion of Peace):
Islamic State sympathisers have called for the beheading of an Indonesian man who claimed to be the “26th prophet”.
A man identifying himself as Jozeph Paul Zhang made the claim alongside other remarks offensive to Muslims in a YouTube video that went viral over the weekend.
Some experts have warned that Zhang’s ethnicity – he is thought to be ethnic Chinese – would fan “hatred” and could lead to attacks against Indonesian Chinese and non-Muslims in the country.
Prophet Mohammed, the founder of Islam, is revered by Muslims as the 25th and final prophet.
Indonesian police are investigating the case as one of blasphemy and are in the process of having an Interpol red notice issued against him. Local media quoting immigration authorities said Zhang left Indonesia in January 2018 and headed for Hong Kong.
“We strongly believe the person in question is somewhere in Europe,” Indonesian National Police spokesman Rusdi Hartono told This Week in Asia.
Hartono later told a press conference Zhang is now in Germany….
In a separate video, seen by local news portal Detik.com on Monday, Zhang said he had already renounced his Indonesian citizenship and that any actions against him would have to be “decided by the laws of Europe”.
Zhang’s remarks follow confessions a fortnight ago by at least two members of a banned Islamist group, the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI), that they were plotting to attack China-linked businesses and shops run by Indonesian Chinese.
The men were part of a group of four FPI suspects who were arrested. At least 5.5kg (12.1lbs) of explosive materials were seized.
This incident comes on the heels of two terror attacks – a church suicide bombing in Makassar, South Sulawesi, by a newlywed couple followed by an attempted terror attack by a 25-year-old woman at the Indonesian police headquarters.
Ramadan is known as a favoured time for militants to launch terror attacks as they believe they will earn double the merits during this period and enter into Heaven….
“[Zhang] is deliberately making a sensation to become famous. Unfortunately, he is endangering the Tionghua community and non-Muslims in Indonesia,” said Muh Taufiqurrohman, senior researcher at the Jakarta-based Centre for Radicalism and Deradicalisation Studies, using a local term to refer to Indonesian Chinese.
Zhang’s ethnicity is not clear. While his name has led many to assume he is Chinese, police say his real name is Shindy Paul Soerjomoljono.
Taufiqurrohman said Islamic State (Isis) supporters in Indonesia and Malaysia had already made calls on social media for Zhang’s beheading. He said pro al-Qaeda groups were also incensed….
“Even members of the country’s moderate Muslim organisation the Nahdlatul Ulama are angry with Zhang,” said Taufiqurrohman, adding that he believed hatred against the Chinese community would “rise again” as a result of the video.
The Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) said Zhang had “hurt the feelings of Muslims”.
“I greatly regret the words of a person named Paul Zhang … He insulted the Prophet Mohammed by claiming himself to be the 26th prophet,” Amirsyah Tambunan, secretary general of MUI, told local media….

While I support Zhang’s right to say anything he likes, he did make a mistake by listing himself among islam’s prophets! Had he simply declared himself ‘a’ or ‘the’ prophet, then he’d have been a non-islamic prophet, and then his battle w/ islam would have been no different than the battles that islam has w/ Christians, Buddhists or Hindus in that country, and he could have claimed persecution. People are justifiably less willing to intervene in intra-islamic battles, since none of the sides are good So had Zhang declared himself a non-Islamic prophet, he could have attracted more support than he would by listing himself as the 26th islamic prophet

Zhang is certainly a crank–but he appears to be a harmless one. Would that we could say the same for the “25th prophet”.

Gravenimage:. He is another deluded individual, and unless he gets a following, harmless. However by irking the Islamists he is inviting fatal retribution

He is probably a far more pleasant and decent person than the “prophet” that Islam currently accepts and tries to emulate, Muhammad. But then again, that wouldn’t take much effort. Most of the human beings in this world are better than Muhammad was portrayed as being. I don’t think Muhammad existed at all. However, the murderous bandit and paedophile, which Muhammad is portrayed as being, is certainly a loathsome character. Trying to emulate such a lowlife character makes Muslims evil people. They need to ditch Muhammad and aim to emulate higher ideals

Thanks for the +1, gravenimage. It does amaze me that there can be people ( over a billion of them, indeed) who could think that such a terrible creature as Muhammad is someone to emulate. There has to be something very wrong with such people. People surely have to aim higher and have a more decent type of person to follow. To my mind, anyone must have some sense of what is nobility of character and what is evil and Muhammad is definitely in the evil category of human beings. Islam is certainly an evil ideology and deserves to be hated which is what you often say is your own attitude towards it. I’m with you in hating islam.

Obviously, you haven’t been keeping up with the changes at Interpol. Their new director, Iqbal bin Taqiyya, has put a special priority on enforcing violations of Sharia and has created a new department: The Islamic Sensibilities Bureau. This is being staffed by experienced personnel with special training in sniffing out racists, Islamophobes and heretics. The purpose of the department is to track down and punish anyone who has said anything which could possibly be construed as a violation of Sharia, or would considered hurtful or disrespectful to a highly sensitive and touchy Muslim. The new director has a PhD in Islamic law from Al Azhar in Cairo. He specialized in blasphemy laws and wrote his thesis on how to best to cancel those spreading corruption on earth. Beware!

It does look as though Interpol is enforcing Shari’ah here, per an article at CNN Indonesia.
Just appalling–would they have enforced Fascism as well?

Indonesia: Muslims call for beheading of man who claims to be new prophet, police ask Interpol to hunt for him
…………..
Just grotesque–but this is orthodox Islam. Interpol should tell them to take a flying leap.
This is one reason why Muslims are so murderous towards Baha’i–because they claim a prophet after Muhammed.
I hope Zhang is safe in Germany–but with all the Muslim invaders there, it is anyone’s guess.

So if this Chinese Indonesian guy flew into Germany, then he must have applied for a Visa to enter Europe, this would be issued in the City of Jakarta, on the main Island of Java, in the country of Indonesia, so he was allowed to enter Europe on this Visa, assuming its a Tourist Visa, and now he has thrown this Passport away and soon he will be yet another illegal person living on the German taxpayers Dime. Am I missing anything here?.
So, too many questions around this situation, but is he actually a born muslim, a convert muslim, or just a naught naughty boy.
Strange how they all run off too lands populated, and controlled, by Caucasians and yet they all call us racists.

So Zhang thinks he’s the 25th Prophet? So what? There’s a guy in the White House who thinks he’s President. Is that any worse?
This planet is full of people who think they are someone else. My next-door neighbour thinks he is the ambassador from Jupiter and goes back every lunchtime for his sandwiches. But he is perfectly harmless and you wouldn’t guess from his behaviour. Of course there are the odd real loonies like Attila the Hun or Caligula or that chap who married a 9 year-old.

Should not Interpol be more concerned with hunting down violent terrorist and criminals then people who harmlessly claim they are Prophets or “hear” Gods voice ? What does one crank get Moslems panties in a bunch ,is their religion faith so thin that it can be threated by one idiot who claims he has a direct connection to their hate filled god, confusing, allah? Islam the religion of always being confused and outraged about matters that do not matter in everyday life.

“There are no jokes in the Koran”

This is very true when life of Brian came out by Monty Python(around 1982) it mocked Christian and Jewish beliefs, traditions ,practices there were no riots ,or calling to “beheading ” the makers or writers of the film by any Christian or Jewish groups. This is in sharp contrast to Islamic groups to any small persevered slander of their religion of peace going full jihad with terror threats .The facts are Mohammad according to Islamic teaching, history, and Islam own religious books ,was a very short fat very white man who owned many slaves both sexual and house hold (black and white), was addicted to sex, very violent ,a great lying, thieving ,raping ,child molesting ,,illiterate ,suicidal idiot, who spread his religion thru terror, fear ,and slavery. The easiest false Prophet who ever walk the earth, why someone would try in the 21 century to claim any connection to this man (26th Prophet)shows he is clearly insane and should not be taken seriously . He is taken seriously by the “scholars ” of this pigs breakfast of a “religion” of peace.
gravenimage says
I know a number of devout Jews and Christians who thought the Life of Brian (and Monty Python and the Holy Grail) were hilarious.
wpm says
Yes because most practicing Christians and Jews are secure in their faith and do not turn into rabid dogs if someone does satire or comedy about their faith. Islam is so contradict ,violent ,and supremist that it,s followers defend it with outrage at any persevere slight .If someone stated that they were Christ or some new Christian “Prophet” no one would take them seriously , most people would consider this person mental ill. No one would demand he should be hunted down and put to death .
