Sri Lankan authorities will be roundly condemned as “Islamophobic” for this, despite the fact that Muslims continue to be perfectly free to practice Islam there. There is abundant evidence of criminal activity committed by people with faces covered, and of jihad indoctrination and recruitment in madrassas. Nevertheless, the left will continue to insist that Sri Lanka and all other non-Muslim countries must simply commit suicide rather than appear “Islamophobic.” Britain and others are happily complying.

Sri Lanka has announced plans to ban the wearing of burqas and said it would close more than 1,000 Islamic schools known as madrassas, citing national security.
The minister of public security, Sarath Weerasekara, said he had signed a paper on Friday seeking the approval of the cabinet of ministers to ban burkas – outer garments that cover the body and face worn by some Muslim women.
“The burqa has a direct impact on national security,” Weerasekara told a ceremony at a Buddhist temple on Saturday. “In our early days, we had a lot of Muslim friends, but Muslim women and girls never wore the burqa,” Weerasekara said, according to video footage sent by his ministry. “It is a sign of religious extremism that came about recently. We will definitely ban it.”
The wearing of burqas was temporarily banned in 2019 after the Easter Sunday bomb attacks on churches and hotels in Sri Lanka that killed more than 260 people. Two local Muslim groups that had pledged allegiance to the Islamic State group have been blamed for the attacks at six locations – two Roman Catholic churches, one Protestant church and three top hotels.
Weerasekara also said the government will ban more than 1,000 madrassas, saying they are not registered with the authorities and do not follow the national education policy….

To nail Islam’s violent agenda, the Sri Lankan authorities should challenge any Muslim to show where Al Qur’an unambiguously states that Muslims should live in peace with Jews, Atheists and all other religions, in perpetuity.
An apologist’s inability to come up with a single such verse in Al Qur’an would further justify the closure of the Madrassas and the Burqa ban.

And if larger, more powerful nations would do the same to push back and to counter those lies, they could begin to regain some respect from their own citizens who know islamophobia is well-financed and very dangerous propaganda. The last time (in the UK) I saw two men walking with a woman? (who could tell?) two steps behind them and tented in black, I wanted to scream out that the ASPCA needed to be on site. We don’t allow animals to be treated that way. But hey, it’s just women. Ignore it and cry about the islamophobia the men must endure.

The Islamic veil is both the ultimate symbol of female repression and the symbol of Islamic supremacism. The absence of the veil is also the pretext for raping unveiled women (K. 33.59). According to K.33.59 the veil serves to ‘identify’ Muslim women in order to prevent their being raped by jihadists. Rape is thus tacitly made a part of jihad and associated with the Islamic veil.

Islamic ‘Koran schools’ (madrassa’s) are teaching the 164 jihad verses in the Koran and the jihad contents in the hadiths and Sharia law. Sri Lanka is taking the most effective control measure, they are attempting to stop the minds of kids being twisted to jihad so as to avoid dealing with adult jihadists.

Keith O, Only too true. If children are indoctrinated at a young age, they do not have the personal knowledge or ability to refute what they are told. Their minds are like a sponge, and if the information they are fed is embellished with emotional content like fear and hatred, it is more deeply imprinted and virtually unforgettable. The Islamic scriptures are full of verses containing hatred and violence against non-Muslims, and Friday sermons at mosques convey the same indelible messages. It would be much better to prevent indoctrination beforehand, than to try and likely fail to deprogram these potential jihadis after the event. And as you rightly indicate, deprogramming twisted minds would involve a lot of personal angst or cognitive dissonance, and possibly result in suicide for some people.

This is good news and should be shared everywhere. It’s the only way to push these religious extremists out of countries where they cause trouble to gain power. If Muslims want to practice their religion which involves unsavoury practices they should do so in a country which is Muslim only. Don’t expect to be able to gain favour elsewhere.

I have been to Sri Lanka twice, twenty years apart. The hatred they have for islam is stunning and very encouraging. But they leave the Muslims alone: we rode on a train and a Saudi-trained salafi stood next to us for five hours chatting with my wife in Arabic. Nobody batted an eyelid. They also have the best beaches I have ever seen. Picture perfect with a handful of people on them.

This is one country that’s proud of its heritage and not shy of embarrassing itself to others. A couple of years ago, they decided to research the flight paths taken by Ravana, the mythological ruler of that island from the Hindu epic Ramayana. They also banned cow slaughter in the island, something that India has always struggled w/. I recall a YouTube quip that ‘Ravana’s country is following dharma (righteousness) while Rama’s country is following adharm (sin)’ – flipping the roles played by these 2 in the epic ?
Also, last year, when the coronavirus broke, Sri Lanka banned the burial of anybody, on the grounds (in a manner of speaking) that it could contaminate the ground water. While the science behind that is arguable, the fact that they were willing to do so says a lot for them. Oh, and they also cut a deal w/ Maldives to accept the bodies of Sri Lankan muslims who insisted on burial
Now if only Sri Lanka would exit China’s belt/road empire and terminate the contracts that leased away Hambanthota to Beijing for more than a century

After all those horrendous and murderous Islamic terror affronts in that Easter Sunday jihad attacks which occurred in Sir Lanka were the outcome of the Islamic doctrine from the Qu‘’ran [the Koran] of a sexual paradise with many virgins, houris , in it for the male Muslim /jihadist who dies fighting in the jihad for the cause of Islam is found in the “holy book” of Islam, the Koran, in Sura 44:54. 55: 56. 78:31. The officials of the government of Sri Lanka, obviously hadn’t forgotten about those murderous jihadists in their horrible Easter Sunday jihad bombings in Sri Lanka were not acting 2:191. out in a hijacked form of Islam but actual Quran based non-watered down hard core . As the Quran teaches in 9:111, “The believers fight in Allah’s Cause, they slay and are slain, they kill and are killed.” Likewise, this “holy book” of Islam also instructs in 47:4 “ Whenever you encounter the disbeliever strike off their heads until you make a great slaughter among them…”
Let’s face it, using bombs as those as the Sir Lanka jihadists did can, for sure, make a greater “slaughter among them” than a sword can. There are the other verses the give instruction for violence and killing for the cause of Islam, as 2:191. 5:33. 8:39.9:5, 38-39.

This is all that we’re asking in the anti-Islamic movement, protect our democracy and freedom by ending Islam. That’s what the Chinese have done and now the Sri Lankans have wised up.
Why is it that we in the great first world can’t even seem to get the basics right? That’s all we need to do, shut down Islamic schools and the next step is to send Muslims back to their “holy cities” in Islamic countries. What’s wrong with that?
They hate our way of life, our love of music, dogs, individuality, freedom, materialism, etc., and they love Sharia law, Jihad, Ramadan, and so forth, so why are they trying to force their way on us? The answer is pretty obvious-it’s like trying to shove a square peg into a round hole, they don’t belong here.
What we need is an honest public discussion about Islam with elected representatives, the way we would about anything else like Covid and then make logical decisions.
The problem is that there are people who don’t want to have that debate. They want us to shut up and accept the crap being rammed down our throats. Nobody asked for Muslims to come here and take away our rights and freedoms. Now that they’re here we’re being prevented from voicing our opposition.
But this article does give us hope that change can happen even among the ruling elites. Hopefully the West has a similar awakening and does the same. This was a bold and wise decision by Sri Lanka, future generations will thank them.
