Muslim Syrian Immigrant Who Shot Up Boulder Supermarket: ‘Refugees Are Good for America’

The usual rule is that a crime committed by an immigrant from a Muslim country is always due to mental illness.

And so we’re already being told that Ahmad Al Aliwi Al Issa, the Boulder mass shooter terrorist, is suffering from mental illness. You’ll have to pardon my skepticism since the media and the authorities have spent two decades telling us that every Muslim terrorist is really mentally ill.

Muslim terrorists in Europe have been found not guilty because they used drugs and were deemed therefore to be mentally ill.

After a brief window where Democrats and their media were hoping for an appropriately white terrorist, they ended up with Ahmad Al Aliwi Al Issa, and we’re already being fed the familiar narrative about mental illness and Islamophobia.

Alissa, whose family emigrated from Syria, may have been suffering from mental illness, according to his 34-year-old brother, Ali Aliwi Alissa.

The brother told CNN Tuesday that in high school bullies made fun of Alissa’s name and for being Muslim and that may have contributed to him becoming “anti-social.”

Alissa had become increasingly “paranoid” around 2014, believing he was being followed and chased, according to his brother. At one point, the young man covered the camera on his computer with duct tape so he could not be seen, said the brother, who lives with Alissa.

“He always suspected someone was behind him, someone was chasing him,” Ali Alissa said.

You know who else is paranoid? Terrorists.

This sounds a lot like Anwar Al-Awlaki’s paranoia about being followed around in America. And indeed he was being tracked.

The media and the Democrats want to make this a gun control issue. It’s not. It’s an immigration issue.

This is the sort of thing the media is trying to spin as mental illness.

Alissa was born in Syria and spent most of his life in Colorado, he wrote on Facebook. He wrote about Islam on social media and said “Muslims might not be perfect but Islam is.”

Alissa wrote in July 2019, “Yeah if these racist islamophobic people would stop hacking my phone and let me have a normal life I probably could.”

Marvel said Alissa was often concerned he was being targeted for his Muslim faith. He said he was “pretty cool” until someone made him mad.

“He would talk about him being Muslim and how if anybody tried anything, he would file a hate crime and say they were making it up,” Marvel said. “It was a crazy deal. I just know he was a pretty cool kid until something made him mad, and then whatever made him mad, he went over the edge — way too far.”

According to his older brother’s Facebook page, which has been taken down, his family was originally from Ar Raqqah, Syria. Alissa’s most recent post on his own Facebook page was on September 18, 2020. His page has also been taken down.

His most recent public post was a shared post from the Muslim Hub.

In March 2019, Alissa shared a post about the Christchurch, New Zealand, mosque shooting, posting a meme that said, “The Muslims at the. #christchurch mosque were not the victims of a single shooter. They were the victims of the entire Islamophobia industry that vilified them.”

Alissa said he was not very political in a post in 2016 before the presidential election. But he at times shared anti-Trump posts. In June 2019, he shared a post from PBS NewsHour about myths about immigration and the U.S. economy and added, “Why refugees and immigrants are good for America.”

  1. The Jews sought refuge in two Muslim countries when they where prosecuted by the Spanish Inquisición: Morocco and Turkey.

      • Disagree with marc. There definitely was persecution of the Sephardic diaspora, but it was more low-key than under the more fanatical Umayyads in Spain. Morocco and Turkey needed the Jews to quietly and efficiently do valuable work for their governments.

        • Yes, till the early 40’s when the government took all property, then later in the ’40s being given 2 weeks to leave. my grandfather’s family had been in Tunisia for centuries, they knew their place, were allowed to work in limited trades and business, paid their taxes and felt comparatively lucky. But their neighbours who previously tolerated them, turned on them very quickly. I hear Morocco, and Turkey where my wife originates from was very similar at those times.

      Almost all Jews have been ousted from Morocco–ten years ago there were fewer than 2000 survivng there. No doubt there are even fewer remaining there today.

      Things are similar in Turkey–and in fast re-Islamizing Turkey, antisemitism is rife.

    • islamic mental derangement syndrome, indicated by the fact that he is mo slum, indoctrinated with the teaching of lawlessness and hatred for Jews, and Christians esp, and everyone else in general. Since he has this mentality caused by his soaking his brain and heart in the islamic evil, he targeted the store in an area where many Jews chose to live and shop, so he could make as many victims of his hated group as possible.
      That’s why.

    • Important point, curious george. Al Issa drove for miles to target a supermarket featuring Kosher products–and this is during Passover week.

  4. Here is the actual logic of Islam: ‘If you say Islam is a violent religion, we’ll kill you’.

    Ahmad Al Issa was angry that Muslims were being criticized for being terrorists, so he BECAME a TERRORIST himself to show people how right the criticism is !

    What absurd logic!

    Sharia law forbids saying something TRUE that a Muslim doesn’t like to be known, such as, ‘Abdul always snores’.

    Muslims don’t want DIRTY KAFIRS to know that jihad is the sixth and MOST IMPORTANT PILLAR of Islam, so they TERRORIZE us so that we will be afraid to tell the truth.

  5. Ahmad Al Issa wasn’t teased for being a Muslim, but for being un-American about it. Americans can be very concerned about the loyalty of people they live and work with. They express these concerns in challenging remarks that sometimes are very brusque. But the intent is not to be cruel. The intent is to find out if someone is a traitor.

    Amad Al-Issa was actually a traitor, thus validating the concerns of his schoolmates.

  6. Having criticized Ahmad Al-Issa for terrorism and faulty reasoning, I want to point out that in fact most Muslims in America are highly educated and hard-working and avoid jihadism. They are the quintessential middle-class salt of the earth. They competently perform their jobs and live quietly at home. Less than 15% of them attend the mosque or practice Islam to any great degree.

      The Pew Research Center, as of 2017, puts the number of muslims in the United States at approximately 3.45 million.

      So about 15%, 517,500, attend mosques / practice islam to some degree.

      I find that very concerning…

    • And James, that same Pew study shows that over half the Muslims in the US want to see brutal Shari’ah law imposed here. Thie is *not* “salt of the earth” as sane people see it.

  7. mo slums are so illogical….if they are called by the titles they call themselves…they get angry.
    If they are ignored for being mo slums….they get angry. They proclaim their “faith” to any and all, but just let someone ***mention*** their belief and they go ballistic.

    Colorado would have been better off without this terror family. Yes, “family.” His brother knew exactly where to find this murderer…went looking in the very parking lot of the store where the murdering mo slum had killed ten people. Perhaps he wanted to pat him on the back, but it was too late … the cops had found out about the shootings.

    The U.S. would be better off without any mo slums. The entire world of mankind would be better off without any mo slums. . Their **pride***…islam…is evil to the core. islam is straight from satan the devil and mo slums like this killer are his children, doing his desires.

    • Before this new formatting, it was very time-consuming to try to comment. Very involved and tiresome. I believe…although I could be wrong…that the work for the new formatting is what made it so difficult and sometimes, impossible to comment.

      I haven’t had any trouble since the change. That’s all I know…about this subject.

    • Infidel and Somehistory–I’m not sure quite how this works–but if the story at the top is not “closed” at the end then the first poster’s name winds up off to the side–see above–and all lthe posts run all the way across the page, with other features at the bottom instead of the page instead off to the right side. This happens with maybe two or three stories out of a hundred. It is not a new format, and does not interfere with anyone’s ability to comment.

        You are seeing something that I don’t see on my computer. There is no poster off to the side as you wrote.
        And, until this new place at the top of the comment box for “logged in…: log out? with the “Post Comment” large and right below the comment box, I had tremendous trouble posting, but now, it’s working fine.

        However, sometimes when reading the pages, the articles have a slide presentation showing the newer articles, and some days, there is no slide, but the articles begin right at the top. No slide, today, then a slide, and back to no slide this evening.

        • Hi, Somehistory. I was referring to the first post on this particular thread, by “Mslm”–which is not right above the comments as is the norm. I thought that was what Infidel was referring to, but of course I might be mistaken.

          But yes–there is a new posting system up for the last few days, with the “Logged in as [poster]. Log out?” message. So glad to hear that you are no longer having posting problems–same with me and several other posters who I know were having trouble. Thank you, Marc.

          I can see the slide show today–and most days–on the home page. Not sure what’s happening that you can’t see it part of the time.

  9. He was paranoid about being tracked. It turns out he WAS being tracked. So he was right … but he’s still crazy? I think maybe he wasn’t crazy to be paranoid then. So …. maybe he wasn’t crazy either when he started shooting unarmed people at the supermarket even though it would seem that he was crazy. Somebody needs to do some more explaining. Things are just a little too crazy about all of this.

  10. Asylum seekers/refugees bring their culture–and their religious beliefs–with them. It’s human nature to do so.

    The actual issue: some cultures and relgious beliefs are antithetical to, incompatible with, or hostile to the U.S. Constitution.

    This folly of Bush is what some would term the “Law of unintended consequences” which was indeed very tragic.

    What is also very tragic is that even now most American politicians still, after all this time, are unaware about the terrible reality about Islam and its deadly jihad.

    After September 11, 2001 the foolish President Bush allowed that Muslim, family, Al Isaa family to enter the America to live in the USA .The murderous outcome of the fool decision is now clear.

    Well from the viewpoint of President Bush who was obviously given much disinformation and outright lies about Islam by the Muslim propagandists for Islam who kept telling him right after September 11, 2001 that “Those 9/11 terrorists of al Qaeda weren’t real Muslims they were just criminal who hijacked the peaceful for religion of Islam for politics .

    Those lying falsehoods and bogus claims of true being “non-violent” convinced Bush that “true Islam is peaceful. ”

    Therefore Bush let that Muslim family into America thinking that “Islam is a non-violent peaceful religion” Now ten dead American are result of that “Bush folly.”

    Some American might wonder who easily Bush could be so gullible as not to investigate the truth or falseness of the claims made by the propagandists for Islam. The answer might be that he ,as President felt that he had enough information about Islam and didn’t have time o further check those claims out the claim did , no doubt “appear genuine”

    After all, the former President was educated about the dangers of Communism before 9/11 not about the dangers of Islam with its violent and murderous jihad.

    • European immigrants such as Polish and Ukrainians have been very beneficial to North America in this last century. I am a proud descendant of such people. We have made success of ourselves, not relying upon handouts but establishing ourselves in our own businesses and being self sufficient.

      • Yes–many migrants and refugees *have* been very good for the US and Canada–including many people here or their ancestors. Pious Muslims, not so much…

  13. On this, I will agree; were one to have read the koran, then, decided to believe it in its entirety, one could easily be diagnosed as mentally ill. A daunting thought that there are 100s of millions of members of the “religion of peace” who implicitly believe in its doctrines. There aren`t enough mental health professionals to treat even a small percentage of this flock.

  14. Refugees are good for America is true if you pick and choose who you allowing to your country. Allowing bad people, criminals, and those who already hate you is not a good plan.
