The Islamic supremacist-kowtowing, jihad-supporting United Nations, which voted down a US-authored resolution condemning Hamas, has descended to a new low.
All freedom-supporting Western countries should have pulled out of the United Nations long ago, as it has become an expensive forum for revolutionary agitprop by the red-green axis. Like his Democrat predecessor Barack Obama, Biden will be a benefit to the UN and to Iran, which has in numerous ways celebrated the Biden victory; he is viewed by the Iranian Islamic regime as an easy target. So far, however, Biden has refused to end American sanctions on Iran, but it is still early in his administration.

THE HAGUE, Netherlands (AP) — The United Nations’ highest court ruled Wednesday that it can hear a case brought by Iran against the United States in a bid to end sanctions the Trump administration re-imposed in 2018 after pulling out of an international deal aimed at curtailing Tehran’s nuclear program.
Lawyers for the United States argued at hearings last year that the case should be thrown out by the International Court of Justice for lack of jurisdiction and admissibility.
However, the court’s president, Abdulqawi Ahmed Yusuf, said that judges rejected US arguments.
Iran filed the case in July 2018 a few months after then-President Donald Trump said he was pulling the US out of a 2015 international agreement over Iran’s nuclear program and would re-impose sanctions on Tehran. Washington also threatened other countries with sanctions if they don’t cut off Iranian oil imports by early November.
In its case, Iran alleges that the sanctions breach a 1955 bilateral agreement known as the Treaty of Amity that regulates and promotes economic and consular ties between the two countries.
The ruling Wednesday comes as new President Joe Biden is seeking to enhance diplomacy toward Iran while Washington looks at restoring constraints on the country’s nuclear program and reining in its regional ambitions.
Secretary of State Antony Blinken appointed a new special envoy for Iran on Friday as Biden’s national security adviser said that restoring limits on the Iranian nuclear program is a top administration priority.
The court based in The Hague had ruled in favor of Iran at an earlier stage, saying in a preliminary ruling in October 2018, that Washington should “remove, by means of its choosing, any impediments arising from” the re-imposition of sanctions to the export to Iran of medicine and medical devices, food and agricultural commodities and spare parts and equipment necessary to ensure the safety of civil aviation.
The Trump administration responded by pulling out of the treaty.
“The Iranians have been ignoring it for an awfully long time, we ought to have pulled out of it decades ago,” then-Secretary of State Mike Pompeo told reporters at the State Department at the time….

Terry, once one has read, “the court’s president, Somali lawyer Abdulqawi Ahmed Yusuf”, we know he’s Muslim, intellectually limited – and being Somalian even more limited than most other Muslims. Objectivity, impartiality, morality and fairness don’t feature in most Muslim minds, so Yusuf’s bias in favour of Islam and Muslim countries will influence a decision in favour of Iran. It’s a foregone conclusion and any court hearing a charade. As Robert said,”All freedom-supporting Western countries should have pulled out of the United Nations long ago.” If the U.S. had a smart president who also possesses moral fibre they’d tell the U.N. court to get stuffed. I remember the former South African government doing that to the U.N. for years.

The sanctions are something that only individual governments can lift, not the UN. Even if the court were to conclude that the sanctions were unjustified, it’s completely the wish of the US government on who it wishes to sanction
I think what will likely happen is that Biden will avoid lifting sanctions himself to avoid the ire of both Israel as well as the GOP, but he’ll quietly signal Europe and others who want to lift sanctions against Iran that it’s okay to do so. That way, he gets what he wants, w/o either Israel nor the GOP being able to do a thing about it

Name one sane person who would sign 30+ executive orders in the first two days of his presidency. If you want to be a dictator and introduce a bunch of radical changes via numerous executive orders, the wise route would be to sign a couple of them every month or so as to not attract too much attention of the public. But Joe Biden is not only not wise, he simply doesn’t think, period.

It’s OT, but Mr. Trump did an executive order to protect the American grid from attacks by the enemies, but biden has already put that protection in jeopardy by suspending it. Mr. Trump ordered that no parts be bought from China, Russia, etc. and those orders have been suspended.
So, with sanctions against iran being lifted…will the U.S. be supplied with electrical parts from the moslims who wish to destroy the country?

And, attorneys and law professor Alan D. are saying that the trial of Mr. Trump in the senate is putting the pols above the law, and is actually against the First Amendment Freedom of Speech, which the dems say does not apply in the case of impeachment. His attorney said that it won’t just be Mr. Trump being silenced, but all of Americans will lose the freedom of speech.
