UK imam says Islam is ‘peaceful,’ not a ‘single word’ in Qur’an to justify ‘ramming your car into people’

The UK’s Daily Mail doesn’t even have any competition in being the absolute worst paper in the Western world. With the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Guardian, the Independent, etc., anyone with any sense knows they’re purveying leftist propaganda and whitewashing the global jihad, among other things. With the Mail, however, you get relatively accurate coverage of jihad activity, and so you might be fooled into thinking that the paper actually opposes such activity. You’d be wrong, as the coverage of jihad violence is combined with vicious smears of foes of jihad violence and Sharia oppression of women, and uncritical puff pieces such as this one about deceivers on the order of Imam Adeel Shah.

Yes, deceiver. Of course he is absolutely correct in a strict sense: the Qur’an does not mention ramming one’s car into people. Oddly enough for a perfect and eternal book that should have foreseen modern technology, it doesn’t mention automobiles at all. But aside from that, Adeel Shah is banking on the Daily Mail and the general public having no idea of the existence of Qur’an verses such as these:

“Against them make ready your strength to the utmost of your power, including steeds of war, to strike terror into the hearts of the enemies of Allah and your enemies…” (8:60)

“When your Lord was revealing to the angels, ‘I am with you; so confirm the believers. I shall cast terror into the hearts of the unbelievers; so strike the necks, and strike every finger of them!” (Qur’an 8:12)

“We will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve for what they have associated with Allah of which He had not sent down authority. And their refuge will be the Fire, and wretched is the residence of the wrongdoers.” (Qur’an 3:151)

“And kill them wherever you find them, and drive them out from where they drove you out; persecution is worse than slaughter. But fight them not by the Holy Mosque until they should fight you there; then, if they fight you, kill them — such is the recompense of unbelievers, but if they give over, surely Allah is all-forgiving, all-compassionate. Fight them until there is no persecution and the religion is Allah’s; then if they give over, there shall be no enmity save for evildoers.” (Qur’an 2:191-193)

“They wish that you should disbelieve as they disbelieve, and then you would be equal; therefore do not take friends from among them, until they emigrate in the way of Allah; then, if they turn their backs, seize them and kill them wherever you find them; do not take for yourselves any one of them as friend or helper.” (Qur’an 4:89)

“This is the recompense of those who fight against Allah and His Messenger, and hasten about the earth to do corruption there: they shall be killed, or crucified, or their hands and feet shall be struck off on opposite sides; or they shall be exiled from the land. That is a degradation for them in this world; and in the world to come awaits them a mighty chastisement.” (Qur’an 5:33)

“Fight them, till there is no persecution and religion is all for Allah; then if they give over, surely Allah sees the things they do.” (Qur’an 8:39)

“Then, when the sacred months are over, kill the idolaters wherever you find them, and take them, and confine them, and lie in wait for them at every place of ambush. But if they repent, and perform the prayer, and pay the alms, then let them go their way; Allah is All-forgiving, All-compassionate.” (Qur’an 9:5)

“Fight those who believe not in Allah and the Last Day and do not forbid what Allah and His Messenger have forbidden, and do not practice the religion of truth, even if they are of the People of the Book — until they pay the jizya with willing submission and feel themselves subdued.” (Qur’an 9:29)

“Allah has bought from the believers their selves and their possessions against the gift of Paradise; they fight in the way of Allah; they kill, and are killed; that is a promise binding upon Allah in the Torah, and the Gospel, and the Koran; and who fulfils his covenant truer than Allah? So rejoice in the bargain you have made with Him; that is the mighty triumph.” (Qur’an 9:111)

“O believers, fight the unbelievers who are near to you; and let them find in you a harshness; and know that Allah is with the godfearing.” (Qur’an 9:123)

“When you meet the unbelievers, strike their necks, then, when you have made wide slaughter among them, tie fast the bonds; then set them free, either by grace or ransom, till the war lays down its loads. So it shall be; and if Allah had willed, He would have avenged Himself upon them; but that He may try some of you by means of others. And those who are slain in the way of Allah, He will not send their works astray.” (Qur’an 47:4)

And a couple of hadiths for good measure. Both of these statements are attributed to Muhammad:

“Fight against those who disbelieve in Allah. Make a holy war…When you meet your enemies who are polytheists, invite them to three courses of action. If they respond to any one of these you also accept it and withhold yourself from doing them any harm. Invite them to (accept) Islam; if they respond to you, accept it from them and desist from fighting against them…. If they refuse to accept Islam, demand from them the Jizya. If they agree to pay, accept it from them and hold off your hands. If they refuse to pay the tax, seek Allah’s help and fight them. (Sahih Muslim 4294)

“The last hour would not come unless the Muslims will fight against the Jews and the Muslims would kill them until the Jews would hide themselves behind a stone or a tree and a stone or a tree would say: Muslim, or the servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me; come and kill him; but the tree Gharqad would not say, for it is the tree of the Jews.” (Sahih Muslim 6985)

The Mail tells us that the Ahmadiyya are “one of the 73 different denominations within Islam.” That number actually comes from a hadith, not from a survey of Muslim sects today. A hadith depicts Muhammad saying: “The B. Isra’il [that is, the Jews] divided into 72 sects, but my people will divide into 73 sects, all of which but one will go to hell.” On being asked which it was, he replied, “It is the one to which I and my companions belong.” (Mishkat al-Masabih, 171-2). The Mail doesn’t bother to tell us that the Ahmadis make up less than two percent of Muslims worldwide, or that mainstream Sunnis and Shi’ites consider the Ahmadis to be heretics, or that they are ruthlessly persecuted in Pakistan and Indonesia because of their supposed heresy. In Pakistan, Ahmadis aren’t even allowed to call themselves Muslims. To make an imam from this sect the front man for the true, peaceful Islam that the Mail is peddling to its hapless readers would be like making the Jehovah’s Witnesses out to be the true exponents of Christianity.

One of Britain’s youngest Imams says he knew he wanted to dedicate his life to a Caliphate as a teenager, while his siblings dreamed of being doctors – and he’s leading five prayers a day at just 26.

Imam Adeel Shah, 26, who lives in East Hampshire and attended a Catholic secondary school in South London growing up, decided to pledge allegiance while in his teens and began studying to be an Ahmadi Muslim Imam at just 17.

Now fully qualified as an Islamic leader, Shah, who came to the UK from Pakistan as a baby, slams terrorists who use the religion to commit atrocities and says his Caliph promotes only ‘love, harmony and brotherhood’.

Shah has four siblings, including two who are now training to be NHS doctors, and says the doors of his mosque are open to anyone, even those who practice different religions.

Members of the LGBTQ community are welcome too, he says, as long as they respect ‘it’s a place of Islamic teachings’.

In 2017, after Shah saw that Westminster Bridge terrorist Khalid Masood, 52, had killed five people and injured 49 in the attack near the Houses of Parliament, he says his first instinct was to go to the scene to protest against Masood’s actions.

After unfurling a banner at the scene of the attack with ‘love for all, hatred for none’ written across it, he wore a t-shirt with the words ‘I am a Muslim, ask me anything’ on it, and some of the questions were harder than others, he admits.

‘A gentleman walked by and looked at the banner…and he looked at me and he said: “Why are you here?” with a tone that suggested “this atrocity has been because of you”. The good thing about him though, was that he was open to dialogue.’

Shah says he explained about the charity work he’d done – he helped raise £1million for ten British charities last year – and the man admitted he’d been living in London for nine or ten years and had never spoken to a Muslim.

‘We ended up hugging’, he adds.

Ahmadi Muslims, one of the 73 different denominations within Islam, read the Quran and pray five times a day but, unlike other many other religions, they believe the Messiah came in 1835, and they’re currently on their fifth caliph, Mirza Masroor Ahmad, who lives in Guildford….

He says: ‘Islam is a peaceful religion. We haven’t got any hidden agenda. We want to promote love, peace and harmony and we are we continuously looking to find how we can do that.’
