You can tell a lot about a man by the identity of his enemies. My latest in FrontPage:
Fulminating Wednesday about the killing of jihad leader Qassem Soleimani, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani thundered: “As I said after the martyrdom of Martyr Soleimani, I emphasise again that if you cut off Martyr Soleimani’s hand, we will cut off your leg from the region and we will continue the resistance until that day….One of the effects of this stupid and disgraceful act was that Trumpism ended and in a few days, the life of this criminal will end and he will go to the dustbin of history, and we are very happy about this and we believe that the period after Trump will be a better condition for regional and global stability.” Well, we’ll see about that. But it’s easy to see why the mullahs hate Trump with such burning intensity.
Several weeks ago, The Times of London ran a piece with the startling headline, “Trump had Tehran on the ropes: now our hope is gone.” And it’s true: if Biden/Harris/Pelosi/Schumer/Obama/Soros take office and follow through on their plan to reinstate the disastrous Iran nuclear deal, the best chance to topple the Islamic Republic, one of the world’s worst human rights abusers, will be gone.
It was during the Trump administration that we saw Iranian protesters chanting: “We don’t want an Islamic Republic!” “Clerics shame on you, let go of our country!” Some chanted: “Reza Shah, bless your soul!” Reza Shah was the Shah of Iran from 1925 to 1941 and the father of Mohammed Reza Pahlavi, the Shah who was overthrown in the Islamic Revolution in 1979. Reza Shah admired Turkey’s Kemal Ataturk and set Iran on a similar path of Westernization and secularization. In chanting this, the protesters are emphasizing that they do not just want economic reforms, as has been the line of the establishment media in the West. Nor do they want an Islamic Republic that is less corrupt. They don’t want an Islamic Republic at all.
In April 2018, thousands of Iranians in a soccer stadium chanted “Reza Shah!” In June of that year, Iranians celebrated a World Cup victory by once again chanting “Reza Shah.”
Was it just a coincidence that the Iranian people began to make their deep dissatisfaction with the Islamic Republic known while Donald Trump was in the White House? Maybe. It is he who began the erosion of the acceptance that the mullahs had won around the world, and he who began to put pressure on them with new sanctions that did not, contrary to the confident predictions of establishment foreign policy “experts,” solidify the American people in hatred of America. Instead, they turned the Iranian people against their vicious and inhumane regime, once again vindicating Trump’s flouting of the conventional State Department wisdom.
But even if the Iranian freedom movement has nothing to do with Trump, it is certain that those demonstrations never would have happened if Hillary Clinton had been President of the United States for the last four years, and just as certain that they will not continue once His Fraudulency or his handlers start the billions flowing to the mullahs once again. After all, Joe Biden was Vice President when demonstrations begin in Iran in 2009, protests that did not go nearly as far or demand as much as the ones we saw more recently.
Barack Obama, however, betrayed the demonstrators to every grisly fate that the mullahs could devise for them in their torture chambers. Bent on concluding the disastrous nuclear deal that lined their oppressors’ pockets with billions and set the world on a path to a catastrophic nuclear attack, Obama ensured that the U.S. government didn’t lift a finger or offer a word of support for the protesters, even as they were being gunned down in the streets.
But then Trump set a sharply different tone. He came out strongly in favor of the protesters, tweeting: “Many reports of peaceful protests by Iranian citizens fed up with regime’s corruption & its squandering of the nation’s wealth to fund terrorism abroad. Iranian govt should respect their people’s rights, including right to express themselves. The world is watching!”
In a similar vein, State Department spokesperson Heather Nauert said: “Iran’s leaders have turned a wealthy country with a rich history and culture into an economically depleted rogue state whose chief exports are violence, bloodshed, and chaos. As President Trump has said, the longest-suffering victims of Iran’s leaders are Iran’s own people.” Press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders added: “There are many reports of peaceful protests by Iranian citizens fed up with the regime’s corruption and its squandering of the nation’s wealth to fund terrorism abroad. The Iranian government should respect their people’s rights, including their right to express themselves.”
The pressure on Iran continued, and Trump even went so far, as the whole world knows, to confront its global belligerence and stop it in its tracks. Four more years of Trump may have meant the dawning of a new era of freedom in Iran, as it would have continued to be shaken to its core. But instead, with their man likely coming into the Oval Office, for the mullahs, it’s time once again to let the good times roll.

The Iranian leadership must be on drugs (or Islam) to make such a stupid statement. The Biden government isn’t going to welcome such threats, even against Trump. The Iranian citizens know this spittle-thrower can’t deliver. Rouhani just sank lower in their eyes. Rouhani, it’s time to stop digging your grave and shut up.
We all know US Presidents have a Secret Service detail for life. Don’t be a coward, Rouhani, come on over and be the martyr who dies trying to assassinate Trump. Unlike you feeble cowards who wanted to kill the Shah back in 1979, we don’t remove our leaders with revolutions or try to kill them after the fact.

Walter Sieruk says
The mullah Rouhani hate President Trump with a passion reveals that Donald Trump must be a good decent upstanding man with much wisdom and knowledge who is ab excellent President oft the United States of America,.
For there aren’t some things wrong with that “mullah regime” of Iran because the word “some” would put a limit on the number of things that are wrong with that brutal, cruel and oppressive “mullah tyranny” of Iran.
Back on the date of 4/22/19 the US Secretary of State ,Michael Pompeo spoke of that brutal and oppressive tyranny which oppresses the people of Iran and said “We will not appease their oppressors as that last administration did .” Pompeo then stated “We will support the Iranian people.”
As far back as on Tuesday, 2/5/ 19 in his second State on the Union a speech President Trump ,wisely, spoke of that Islamic tyranny of Iran as well as those in total power and complete of that tyrannical rogue state. For the President declared “It is a radical regime, they do bad, bad things.”
Moreover, an author of an article on a Freedom Site, Dariush Afshar, had explained the reality of the situation well when he wrote that the “People of Iran who fight for freedom in Iran and abroad put a huge gap and draw a prominent line between Iran and the Islamic regime in Tehran.”
This is sadly and tragically the terrible reality of this Islamic tyrannical regime of Iran. This Islamic tyranny has been well nicknamed “the mullahs regime” in which them mullahs and ayatollahs as well as other fiendish and fanatical Muslims in power have a strong and awful control of the Islamic regime of Iran and through their band of Islamic state “police” , who are called the “Revolutionary Guards “come down hard human rights of the Iranian people .
Therefore, the Iranian people who are trapped and forced to exist in this Islamic tyranny live in terrible fear of the mullahs and others in power in Iran. This is a tragic and sad reminder of the wisdom that was printed in the periodical of Benjamin Franklin which is entitled POOR RICHARDS’ ALMANAC that reads “Those who are feared are also hated.”
It also should be added, to this that the actual word “Republic” has on origin the Latin meaning “Of the people” With the mullahs ayatollahs in so much power and even influencing the parliament of this Islamic regime is tyranny is hardly a real republic .Furthermore the ruthless gang of thugs who are the stooges of those Muslim clerics, called the “Revolutionary Guards,” those Islamic State “police” come down hard on the human rights and freedoms of the Iranian people. Therefore the people do have the right to overthrow a tyranny. This reality had even been expressed and described by men of great intelligence .For example, the philosopher .John Locke. This is wisdom that mullahs and other villains in power in that Islamic tyranny don’t want the Iranian people to know about or understand.
Walter Sieruk says
About that Sharia law based tyrannical Islamic regime of Iran which has the official title of “The Islamic Republic of Iran” and also about the chief and head Imam, Ayatollah Khomeini, who had a strong hand in establishing this so called “Republic “
The very actual essence of that Islamic tyranny ,Ayatollah Khomeini had made in known that “The Islamic Republic of Iran would be Islamic and nothing but .He declared ‘What the nation wants is an Islamic Republic . Not just a Republic, not a democratic Republic, not a democratic Islamic Republic. Do not use the word “democratic” to describe it. That is the Western style. ‘” [1]
In addition, a former Muslim revealed an important reality when he wrote “Iran is representative of what Islamic fundamentals desire, an Islamic State, and the consequence of achieving it: State Terror, Instead of utopic, Iran is an Islamic totalitarian nightmare.” He further exposes that “What followed its establishment was the inevitable consequence and inexorable logic of its Islamic premise; state terrorism, a merciless tyranny.” [2]
Furthermore, in the book entitled HOW ISLAM PLANS TO CHANGE THE WORLD, by , the Christian scholar, William Wagner ,on page 208 the reader is informed that “The creation of the Islamic republic in Iran has had the effect that many from that country have become disillusioned with Islam and are looking to leave Iran. ” This is a point worth pondering.

Walter Sieruk says
“The Islamic republic of Iran exists and operates as what every fundamentalist dreams of, an Islamic state ruled by sharia law …” [1]
It’s complete blindness , delusion ,folly and error to even attempt to establish Sharia law in North Africa or for that matter any other nation or place in this world.
About Islamic law ,otherwise known and Sharia law. It should be made known that the actual origin of Sharia law is revealed in a Time –Life book with the title MESOPOTAMIA: THE MIGHTY KINGS copyright 1995. The point is this history book about the ancient pagan world of Mesopotamia informs the reader that “many Islamic laws resemble the Babylon and Assyrian forebears.” .page 150.
There is the above and other references imply that such pagan teachings were incorporated into the religion that Muhammad manufactured and then started.
Thus this further reveals that a lot of ancient paganism is part of the whole religion of Islam.
In other words, ancient paganism makes up much of Islam. Therefore Islam is a hoax.

This top ,main jihadwatch article exposed well how terrible Obama was a a US President This article informs the reader that ” Barack Obama, however, betrayed the demonstrators to every grisly fate that the mullahs could devise for them in their torture chambers. This truth was clearly seen by the mass arrest and imprisonment of people who had peacefully protested that “mullah tyranny” of iran only further exposes the weak ,fearful and intolerant nature of those in power in the oppressive and brutal “mullah regime “ of Iran.
Obama did nothing at all to help the Iranian people throw off the chains of brutal oppression of that cruel Islamic tyranny. Obama by not helping them was totally useless.
As a former Muslim revealed an important reality when he wrote “The Islamic republic of Iran exists and operates as what every fundamentalist dreams of, an Islamic state ruled by sharia …” He further exposes that “What followed its establishment was the inevitable consequence and inexorable logic of its Islamic premise; state terrorism, a merciless tyranny.” [1]

————————————————————————————————-
Obama was and isn’t “useless”: he was very effective at achieving his ends, which were to damage the USA as much as possible, to empower the Muslim Brotherhood and the extreme Left, and to finance the Iranian mullahs and terrorism in general.
The only area where it appears that he failed, was in his campaign to isolate and endanger Israel.
Walter Sieruk says
The foolishness ,folly and wickedness of Obama might cause all sensible Americans to wonder “Just how irresponsible, treacherous and even treasonous could that former US President Obama actually be ? Some of those Iranian who Obama allowed to become US citizens might be dangerous and deadly jihadist operatives of Iran. What’s more that so called “eal” with Iran is a sick joke at its best and a horrible hoax at its worst.
This is a very strong reminder that during the summer month of August in the year of 2010 I had attended a lecture in a church about the subject of Islam. The guest speaker was a man who in times past was a Muslim and a Hezbollah member as well as an Iranian citizen. Now he’s Christian and an American citizen. After the lecture, during the question and answer part, he was asked “Is Obama a Muslim?” The speaker replied that “I don’t know if he is a Muslim but his deception is Islamic.” Then he added about Obama “Whenever he talks he sounds just like a Muslim.” Moreover the guest speaker further said about Obama “He is going to hurt this country.” As just keyboarded above that lecture was hold in the year 2010 and since then Obama had ,indeed, hurt America by and through his words , actions , politics and policies .

That eminent historian Robert Spencer has apparently no knowledge of Mohammed Mosaddegh, whose Iranian government was overthrown in 1953 and replaced by one more acceptable to the CIA.
He’s never heard of the gross levels of corruption, or SAVAK, the reign of terror set up by Pahlavi the glorious Shah of Iran, which kept him in power as a loyal servant of the USA, the billions of dollars belonging to the people of Iran which were paid to US arms manufacturers to build up a military, useless to the people, but which glorified the Shah, and the greed for Iran’s oil which meant that the US and the UK couldn’t keep their grubby fingers away from Iran’s government.
And so of course he’s not aware that any of these matters could have contributed to the Iranian Revolution, the rise of the Ayatollahs, or present day attitudes to America.
If only Americans could mind their own business, in so many places, what a much more stable, peaceful place the world might be. Do we really need a clumsy ‘stable genius’ buffoon meddling today in such complex matters, far beyond his understanding?
gravenimage says
Iran has always had authoritarian regimes, of course. “Rod” pretending that the savage Mullahs are an improvement is of course absurd.
Then, the implication that the Mullahs are not really Islamic, and that this is all just a reacion to the “filthy Infidels” is ludicrous. Is this why Iran is so oppressive to its own citizens–and all on Islamic grounds? Is that why Iran engages in child marriage, crushing of freedom of speech, oppression of non-Muslims and minority sects? Is that the reason they stone women to death? This is just vicious tosh.
CogitoErgoSum says

The people of Iran don’t seem to have got the message. A recent murder would suggest they’re right. But how is anybody to know what Trump is trying to do? Does he know himself? Soon it won’t matter, thank god.
“Iran has always had authoritarian regimes,”
They prefer regimes which don’t murder and torture thousands of their own people with the active support of the CIA. They proved it by kicking out the Shah and his brutal and corrupt regime. As in Iraq and Afghanistan, US interference produced an ongoing disaster, which continues to this day.
Westman says
“..don’t murder and torture thousands of their own people with the active support of the CIA.”
Yes, Rod, they do it without any outside help at all and do not hesitate to deflect their resources away from the needs of the citizens(except to buy more cranes with which to hang them) and give it to their proxies to create mischief in other lands.
It’s a truly evil empire, Rod, and very much alone without support from the Sunnis who would be quite happy to see Iran’s “leadership” overthrown.
Khamenei has so few supporters in the ME that must run to Russia and China asking for protection. And, of course, they don’t actually care about him or the leadership; it’s the natural resources and policies to support their own agendas that count. For their support he must pay.
James Lincoln says
Rod says,
“But how is anybody to know what Trump is trying to do? Does he know himself? Soon it won’t matter, thank god.”

Shouldn’t you be worrying about why Spencer is giving you such a distorted account of what happened? Does he think you’re all gullible fools? Is he right?
Infidel says
Spencer ain’t giving us anything. Unlike you people, I’ve been following the news since the 80s: history doesn’t always start today – whenever today is, like it does w/ thugs such as you!
And no, every country doesn’t subscribe to world citizenship, the way you alluded to in the last thread when I asked you which country you were in

Only since the 80s Infidel? Well, you’ve missed quite a lot. Much of it unpleasant. Perhaps that’s Spencer’s problem too.

James Lincoln says
infidel says,
“Even though Trump lost…”
Yes, Pres. Trump “officially” lost reelection – but it was stolen from him.
Several state legislatures in key battleground states did not follow the U.S. Constitution regarding election procedures.
And there were many other “irregularities”….
Rod says
I can only conclude James, either that
a)Trump didn’t appoint enough judges, though 300 should have sufficed
or, that
b) since no irregularities or breaches of the Constitution could be demonstrated in court, when given every opportunity, such irregularities or breaches did not in fact occur.
or that
c) under the Trump administration, the entire US justice system has fallen into chaos and ineptitude.
It’s obvious to most of us that b) is the correct answer.
James Lincoln says
Rod,
As I am sure that you are aware, Texas asked the US Supreme Court to take on a case that would have essentially nullified the presidential election results in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Georgia and Wisconsin.
The State of Texas’s motion was denied, procedurally, for lack of “standing”.
It did not rule on the actual “merits” of the case, nor has any other court…

James,
Why can’t Rudi mount a case with “standing” if the evidence is so abundant and compelling? Obviously the SC judges saw the Texas case as a waste of their time.
So we have, not the Attorney General, not the Sec. of State, but a Trump disciple, saying
“It’s a failure of the court to exercise jurisdiction proficiently,”
Matt Gaetz, of all people, tells the Supreme Court how to conduct its business. On foxnews!
Meanwhile I’m reading “How Matt Gaetz spread a falsehood about antifa infiltrating the mob that attacked Congress” Oh, that Gaetz.
Where’s the entire legal fraternity of the US rising up in outrage at this gross assault on the people’s rights? All of them in on this massive conspiracy? All of them befuddled by fake news?

Alice, I do rely on the mainstream media. Hard to believe that hundreds of journalists and media organisations from all around the world have got it wrong, and you have perhaps got it right. But if what I saw, live, on Wednesday didn’t really happen, I will be surprised. And if what it seems to mean really means something else, I’ll be stunned. But that seems unlikely. It’s the contempt that people like Rod have held for others over the past 4 years (probably more like 12) that has brought all of this about. The news media showing BLM and Antifa rioters burning down buildings and looting stores and calling it all “mostly peaceful” while calling angry Trump supporters a mob of racist morons has taken its toll (but probably not reached its limit). It’s all sickening and it’s only going to get worse from here on. I’m sure the people like Rod are loving it (death to America and all that). So let the games begin – but it’s not going to be pretty or very much fun.
Rod says
cog, I live in a democracy. Not perfect, not the greatest democracy on earth.
But I have watched what Americans claim to be the “greatest on earth” over the past four years and what I and the world have seen is pathetic, laughable, ludicrous, ugly.
And I have watched what happened last week.
Democracy is a bargain. The deal is, you hold elections and you accept election results, win or lose. That’s the very essence of democracy. If you don’t accept the bargain, your “democracy” does not exist. Where I live we do it every few years, and have done it for generations.
Americans have been interfering in other people’s democracies for decades – Vietnam, Central America, Chile, Cuba, Venezuela. Do you have any respect for democracy at all?
And the grand climax, Trump, Deny the people’s will, Stop the Steal, Invade the Capitol, attack the police, attack the media, never concede.
You don’t even understand democracy. The “greatest on earth”? What? Stop your boasting, your arrogance, your thuggery. You are a sick joke before the world.
Hence, contempt.

I hope you are happy wherever it is that you call your “democracy.” Be gleeful with your feeling of contempt for us Americans. I hope the world enjoys whatever comes after we are gone. If we are lucky here maybe we will revert to the way it was before Columbus and we will all live in our separate tribes and hunt the buffalo. May your country be so lucky also and may you and your ancestors (who survive the worsening plagues to come) have happy (albeit short) lives.
CogitoErgoSum says
Excuse me, Rod. I meant to wish you and your descendants happy (albeit) short lives. It’s too late for your ancestors. Their lives are history and there’s not a thing any of us can do about that …. except try to do better than they did … or be just the way they were. Choose for yourself.

Iran Not In A Hurry To Negotiate With US, Says Khamenei Insisting On Regional Presence
Iran is in no hurry for the return of the United States to the 2015 nuclear deal. What is important for Iran is an end to US sanctions, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei said in a speech on Friday, January 8.
Khamenei also said importing Covid-19 vaccine from the United States and the United Kingdom is forbidden.
Khamenei’s comments about Iran’s missile power, its determination to be a regional player, its enmity against the United States, and its odd opposition to US and UK-made COVID-19 vaccines were marked with a tone of defiance and paranoia.
“The enemies will begin to take into account our military power in their calculations when they see that Iranian missiles can down US drones and demolish Ain al-Assad base,” he said.
Khamenei reiterated his opposition to negotiations with the United States by saying, “Some people think Iran will become a paradise as a result of negotiations with America, but that is not true. Look at Iran under the Shah. Look at the situation of regional countries!”

Prince Reza Pahlavi Expresses Solidarity With Families Of Flight PS752
On the anniversary of the downing of the Ukrainian flight PS752 by the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) in Iran, exiled Prince Reza Pahlavi expressed solidarity with the campaign of the victims’ families for justice.
Thursday, January 7, was the anniversary of the downing of Ukrainian flight PS752 by IRGC missiles minutes after it took off from Tehran International Airport. All 176 passengers and crew on board were killed.
“One year ago, the regime occupying Iran shot down PS752, murdering all 176 passengers on board. Since, their families have been denied answers & the world has been denied accountability. We must stand with the families’ campaign for justice in the highest international courts,” Prince Reza Pahlavi tweeted on Thursday.
After the attack last year, the state media and some officials initially claimed that the crash was due to a technical malfunction and dismissed as propaganda the US claim about the IRGC shooting down the plane.
Three days later the IRGC and Islamic Republic officials were finally forced to take responsibility for shooting down the plane with two missiles.
The IRGC and Islamic Republic officials continue to claim that the incident occurred due to human error. But neither the families of the victims nor the countries involved, including Canada and Ukraine, have accepted this explanation.
The families insist that the case must be reviewed by a fair court and the true culprits must be identified.
On Wednesday, President Hassan Rouhani once again promised that those responsible for the downing of the plane will be tried in court.
However, in recent months the Islamic Republic has been threatening and pressuring the families into accepting a small amount of money as compensation.
REZA SHAH 2 FOR IRAN. Mullahs bye bye End of your facist Islam is over.

Does anybody remember Iran Air Flight 655, shot down by a US missile 3 July 1988? 274 civilians killed, including 238 Iranians.
I’m sure most Iranians remember, and few Americans do.
But never forget, the Muslims are the bad guys. Always.

I hope we can get back to the days when there were no airplanes.

Damn Wright brothers. Probably stole the idea from somebody else but damn them anyway.

This was tragic, but th plane was shot down *in error*. “Rod” seems fine with hating Westerners forever for a mistake, but is good with Muslims deliberately murdering civilians. Very telling.
CogitoErgoSum says
Rod gives me great amusement.
Rod says
Yes, perhaps a mistake, very tragic, though I doubt that the Iranians were, or are forgiving.
The real issue is – why was a US warship launching a deadly wartime missile over Iran’s territorial waters in the Persian Gulf? Ten thousand miles from Washington?
At any time? Near the flight path of civilian aircraft?
Do we just accept that Americans have the right to do such things? And must everybody be understanding when they make “mistakes”?
And be surprised at the resulting mistrust and resentment?

Tensions are rising in the Middle East. Iran’s president vows to annihilate the United States and Israel. Israel’s prime minister says someone must hit Iran’s nuclear sites “before it’s too late.” The American president warns against a preemptive strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities and says negotiations are the key to finding peace.
And amid it all, rumors are swirling throughout the region of a mysterious religious cleric claiming to be the Islamic messiah known as the Mahdi or the Twelfth Imam. Word of his miracles, healings, signs, and wonders is spreading like wildfire.
CIA operative David Shirazi was born for this moment. He is recruited and sent into Tehran with one objective: use all means necessary to disrupt Iran’s nuclear weapons program, without leaving American fingerprints and without triggering an apocalyptic new war.
A native Farsi speaker whose family escaped from Iran in 1979, he couldn’t be better prepared for the mission. But none of his training has prepared Shirazi for what will happen next.
