There are just too many people like this for authorities to keep track of, and that has been the Islamic State’s explicit strategy for years: to overwhelm Western law enforcement and intelligence officials with so many attacks and plots that they can’t keep up and ultimately collapse under the pressure. ZURICH – A woman with a knife injured two other women in a department store in the southern Swiss city of Lugano. The authorities suspect an act of terrorism: the woman has been known to the police since 2017 due to an investigation into radical Muslims who want to use violence to spread Islam.
The 28-year-old Swiss suspect, who lives nearby, stabbed a woman and tried to strangle another woman. One victim was seriously injured, but is not in danger of death. The other woman sustained minor injuries.
