Empty promises, and the world will turn away indifferent, because this doesn’t fit the mainstream narrative. If a Christian leader had promised to protect mosques and mosques were then attacked, you’d never hear the end of it. But aside from this post, you’re likely never to hear of this again.

“Christian churches will be protected, Azerbaijan leader says,” Associated Press, November 15, 2020:

Fighting resumed in late September and ended with an agreement that calls for Azerbaijan to regain control of the outlying territories as well as allowing it to hold on to parts of Nagorno-Karabakh that it seized during the fighting.

However, the recent desecration of churches has made it clear that the Baku administration is not interested in protecting these sites.
As per the reports, a historic cathedral in Nagorno-Karabakh’s city of Shusha was shelled by the Azerbaijani forces. AFP reported severe damage to the church.
