French authorities are vowing to crack down on jihad activity within the country, as well as to emphasize the importance of the freedom of expression, in the wake of the beheading of a teacher for showing a Muhammad cartoon. Incidents such as this one, however, indicate that France has within it many people who have no regard for French authorities or for its secular society. How will France approach that problem? Will it begin to teach in favor of secularism and against Sharia in Muslim areas? Or simply continue to ignore the problem?

An Avignon man, aged about thirty, was arrested Wednesday evening on avenue Saint-Ruf. Strolling drunk on the public highway, the man annoyed passers-by and residents, who alerted the police.
A police patrol arrived at the scene and the troublemaker began to threaten and insult them and even shouted “Allah Akbar,” threatening them with death. Already known to the police, he was taken into custody. Yesterday evening, he was still there while awaiting his judgment scheduled for this afternoon in immediate appearance before the criminal court.
