Either these students are Muslims who believe in the death penalty for blasphemy, or were enticed by Anzorov’s money to help him commit murder. Either way, France has a great deal of work to do to restore a general understanding of the importance of the freedom of speech. And so does the West in general.
“Police interrogated French teacher over Mohammed cartoons four days before his murder following complaint – as it emerges bribed pupils waited two hours with killer to point out victim,” by Ross Ibbetson and Tim Stickings, Mailonline, October 21, 2020:
Police interrogated French schoolteacher Samuel Paty over Mohammed cartoons just four days before his murder after complaints were made by the father of a schoolgirl.
Paty was beheaded by 18-year-old Chechen Aboulakh Anzorov who lay in wait for two hours outside the Bois-d’Aulne school with two boys who identified the teacher in exchange for £300….
Anti-terror prosecutor Jean-Francois Ricard said the children – aged 14 and 15 – were in a group who shared 300-350 euros (£217-315) offered by the killer to help find Paty.
The two stayed with Anzorov for more than two hours waiting for the father-of-one….
Ricard said Anzorov had offered pupils at Paty’s school money to help him find the teacher as he did not know what Paty looked like.
The prosecutor said the two accused youngsters had stayed with Anzorov even after he told them he wanted to ‘humiliate and strike’ Paty.
The teens are among seven people who will face prosecution for ‘conspiracy to commit a terrorist murder’, said Ricard….
