MI5 was probably too busy making sure that foes of jihad violence and Sharia oppression of women didn’t enter the country to divert valuable resources to something as trivial as stopping a jihad mass murderer. To have done so would have been “Islamophobic.”

The Manchester Arena terrorist had been at the deathbed of a suspected extremist preacher four months earlier, the inquiry into the bombing was told.
It also emerged yesterday that MI5 had been aware that Salman Abedi had visited an extremist in prison but did not reopen an investigation into him.
Paul Greaney, QC, counsel to the inquiry, said on the final day of the opening hearing that he was “very conscious that the issue of preventability is of acute interest to the families and public at large”.
The hearing was told of links between Abedi, 22, and Mansoor al-Anezi, a preacher who had previously been arrested and interviewed over his “close association” with Nicky Reilly, a failed suicide bomber. He had led prayers…
