This is Sharia. What is said here of the husband applies also to the male guardians of a woman who is unmarried: “The husband may forbid his wife to leave the home…because of the hadith related by Bayhaqi that the Prophet…said, ‘It is not permissible for a woman who believes in Allah and the Last Day to allow someone into her husband’s house if he is opposed, or to go out of it if he is averse” (Reliance of the Traveller m10.4).
And what if she does go anyway?
“Men have authority over women because Allah has made the one superior to the other, and because they spend their wealth to maintain them. Good women are obedient. They guard their unseen parts because Allah has guarded them. As for those from whom you fear disobedience, admonish them and send them to beds apart and beat them.” — Qur’an 4:34
Muhammad’s child bride, Aisha, says in a hadith that Muhammad “struck me on the chest which caused me pain, and then said: ‘Did you think that Allah and His Apostle would deal unjustly with you?’” — Sahih Muslim 2127
There is no permission given to kill the disobedient woman, but if she dies during a beating, the defendants can claim they killed her for honor. Muslims commit 91 percent of honor killings worldwide. The Palestinian Authority gives pardons or suspended sentences for honor murders. Iraqi women have asked for tougher sentences for Islamic honor murderers, who get off lightly now. Syria in 2009 scrapped a law limiting the length of sentences for honor killings, but “the new law says a man can still benefit from extenuating circumstances in crimes of passion or honour ‘provided he serves a prison term of no less than two years in the case of killing.’” And in 2003 the Jordanian Parliament voted down on Islamic grounds a provision designed to stiffen penalties for honor killings. Al-Jazeera reported that “Islamists and conservatives said the laws violated religious traditions and would destroy families and values.”

FAISALABAD: A 20-year-old girl was allegedly beaten to death by her brothers with sticks for going to the neighbours’ house on Wednesday.
The accused escaped after the incident. Police registered a case and launched raids to nab the accused.
The police said 20-year-old daughter of Muhammad Boota, a resident of Kamalpur area of Nishatabad, was repeatedly barred by her brothers identified as Muhammad Ikram and Muhammad Saddam, from going to their neighbours’ house.
On Tuesday, the victim left for her neighbours’ place and when she came back home she was asked by her brothers about her reason for leaving the house and where she had gone. The victim did not answer them.
The two brothers started beating beat her with sticks, injuring her fatally….
