Ali M. (name changed) seems anything but intimidated after his controversial arrest by the Düsseldorf police. In a short clip via Snapchat, the 15-year-old teenager walks through a park and thanks everyone on the web for their wishes for improvement. “I kiss all of your hearts,” declares the dark-haired curly headed boy, his baseball cap set casually on the back of his head. At the same time, Ali M. announced another statement about the things that had happened there. The German-Moroccan finished the 13-second sequence with a grinning smile.
There is nothing to be seen of the rumored injuries that Ali M. is said to have suffered during an arrest on Saturday evening in Düsseldorf’s old town by police officers. At least it shows no visible damage to his head.
The local Green politician Samy Charchira reported after a visit to the family that the student had suffered a first-degree traumatic brain injury caused by officials near McDonald’s at Bolker Stern. The boy spent a day in the hospital for observation. “He suffered several bruises on his face, skull, pelvis, thoracic and cervical spine. His mental health, but also that of his parents, is precarious,” said the candidate for the upcoming local elections in Düsseldorf. The video of the “victim”, on the other hand, shows a young man who apparently hardly seems to be affected. FOCUS Online asked the Green politician about the background, but received no answer.
Did Ali M. call the officials “sons of whores”?
The case made waves after short clips on the net showed what appeared to be a brutal approach by a police superintendent to arrest the 15-year-old youth. Ali M. is said to have interfered in an operation in the old town and hit the officials. He insulted them as “sons of bitches”, and is said to have made it clear that he “always hated this uniform”.
Two police officers brought the rioter, who was known to the police, to the ground after a long back and forth. One of them pushed him down on his knee. It is currently not clear whether the leg was on his head or on his neck. In the latter case, such an action constitutes criminal police violence. Since then, the public prosecutor’s office has been investigating four officers.
