Imagine if a cleric of any other religion had said this to anyone, which would never and should never happen. It would be front-page news for weeks. But no one will take any particular notice of this.

Islamabad: The construction of Hindu temple in Islamabad, which has now been halted, has drawn sharp reactions from various quarters in Pakistan with some strongly opposing the decision while others opening issuing threats to those supporting the move.
The construction work at the site of the Shri Krishna Mandir — first Hindu temple to be built in Pakistan’s capital was stopped last week after the decision met with strong opposition by the Islamists and radical clerics.
The Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q), a ruling ally of the Imran Khan government, also raised objection over the construction of the temple, asking its alliance partner to scrap the project as it is “against the spirit of Islam”.
