“Those who make a direct mistake on Mohammad Saheb, O dog will die.”
The “mistake” here is a film that portrays Muhammad favorably. But even that is not acceptable. Islamic apologists insist that Muslims do not worship Muhammad, and to be sure, he is not considered a deity in Islamic theology, but the rage over any portrayal of this one human being betrays that the fact that in Islam, Muhammad has a de facto status that is considerably more than human.

Twitter has a new trend – #BoycottFilmOnProphet. The hashtag is around Majid Majidi’s 2015 release called ‘Muhammad: The Messenger Of God’. Muslims on the mico-blogging [sic] site have been demanding ban on the movie for various reasons.
One reason that a ban is demanded on ‘Muhammad: The Messenger Of God’, is because, according to a user, filmography is prohibitted [sic] in Shia culture. Many others have asked the government to take strict action against the film too….
