A culture of violence, the foundational text of which commands men to beat women from whom they “fear disobedience” (Qur’an 4:34), is going to give rise to this sort of thing, just as that same foundational text’s calls for violence against unbelievers (2:191, 4:89, 9:5, 9:29, 47:4, etc.) are going to give rise to jihad violence.

Dortmund. In the early morning of Shrove Monday, a 42-year-old man of Iraqi origin is said to have killed his wife (30) in Dortmund.
When the police found the woman in the apartment in downtown Dortmund, the officers quickly suspected a homicide. The husband was arrested on the spot. Terrifying details of the alleged perpetrator’s past have now been released.
In February, the autopsy of the woman’s corpse revealed that the “30-year-old Iraqi woman had died due to massive violence against her neck.” At the scene of the crime, the husband said, when asked by the investigators, that his wife had wanted to take their children away from him. Since then, the 42-year-old has been silent on the case, reports the “WAZ”.
The couple married in Iraq in 2011 and gave birth to four children there. In 2017, the family moved to Stolberg near Aachen. Until the very end, they lived in Germany with a temporary residence permit.
The 42-year-old had already become violent towards his wife in the past. She initially fled to a women’s shelter with her children. Then they moved into the apartment on Viktoriastraße in Dortmund. According to “WAZ”, the 30-year-old voluntarily took her husband back in with her just a few weeks before the crime.
