Omar Khadr, the infamous, well-paid convicted terrorist and real-life super villain will be featured as a keynote speaker at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia…..According to Dalhousie University’s website, Khadr will be speaking at an event titled Children’s Rights Upfront: Preventing the Recruitment and Use of Children in Violence in February, 2020.
Remember this news from 2017:
The widow of an American soldier killed in Afghanistan and another former U.S. soldier partially blinded by a hand grenade plan to file an emergency injunction to stop Ottawa from paying $10.5-million to former child soldier Omar Khadr. Tabitha Speer and Layne Morris allege Mr. Khadr was responsible for the death of Sergeant Christopher Speer and Mr. Morris’s injuries in Afghanistan. Two sources say they are expected to ask the Ontario Superior Court as early as Wednesday to uphold a 2015 Utah civil court judgment ordering Mr. Khadr to pay them $134-million (U.S.) for his actions in Afghanistan.
Khadr’s lawyer was out for big dollars — $20,000,000 in “compensation” — and seeking a formal apology where none was needed; the government of Justin Trudeau decided to dole out $10,500,000 and issue an apology for some alleged abuse and shoddy treatment that the poor jihadi Khadr allegedly endured in Guantanamo.
Khadr has not only happily hit the jackpot at the expense of hardworking taxpayers, who can think of much better ways to spend their money, but now he’s also getting a keynote speaking engagement at Dalhousie University, an invitation which serves to legitimize him as a respectable Canadian. What makes this particularly twisted is that Khadr is addressing the topic of “children’s rights.” Never mind the pain he has inflicted on others, particularly the children of Christopher Speer. Khadr was also quoted as stating that “his $10.5 million settlement was for ‘all Canadians'”! Anyone would be hard pressed to find a more ridiculous statement. The wealthy Khadr has since used $3 million of his wealth to invest in an Edmonton shopping mall.
Rather than feature an opponent of jihad terror and terrorists, Dalhousie chose to feature a former child jihadi who inflicted incalculable suffering upon innocent families and was handsomely rewarded for it, sending the signal to jihadis that Canada has sold its soul to “diversity.”
On the website of Dalhousie University, it states:
When Dalhousie was established in Halifax on February 6, 1818, it was the only non-denominational school in Atlantic Canada. These founding values of diversity and inclusion still serve as a guiding force.
Discretion is clearly not among those values. According to a Globe and Mail article in 2017:
“Canadians know this is wrong,” Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer said on Twitter. “If Omar Khadr is truly sorry for what he did, he’ll give every cent to Tabitha Speer and her two children.”
He didn’t.
“Omar Khadr is giving a keynote address at Dalhousie University,” by Roberto Wakerell-Cruz, Post Millennial, January 23, 2020:
Omar Khadr, the infamous, well-paid convicted terrorist and real-life super villain will be featured as a keynote speaker at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia according to TNC.
According to Dalhousie University’s website, Khadr will be speaking at an event titled Children’s Rights Upfront: Preventing the Recruitment and Use of Children in Violence in February, 2020.
The event will be hosted by the CBC’s Nahlah Ayed and will feature others who served as child soldiers, notably Ishmael Beah, now Sierra Leonian activist.
Khadr, who is well known for his victory in Canadian court for winning over $10 million dollars for human rights abuses, has been on somewhat of a media tour in recent months. After purchasing an Edmonton-area strip mall, Khadr appeared on CBC’s Tout Le Monde En Parle, a French-language TV show which gave him a hero’s welcome.
The event will also feature remarks from Dr. Shelly Whitman and author and Canadian hero Hon. Roméo Dallaire, who is well known for his work in Rwanda during the nation’s genocide.
“The event coincides with the International Day Against the Use of Child Soldiers Red Hand Day on February 12. This year also marks the 10th anniversary of the Dallaire Initiative’s partnership with Dalhousie University,” the event description reads…..
