Muslim clerics? What? Why, how can this be? How can these three men who have dedicated their lives to understanding Islam properly and living it out correctly have misunderstood the Religion of Peace so spectacularly as to think that it called for the murder of those who supposedly insulted its leading figure? Pope Francis, that most learned of imams, needs to sit down with Sayyed Kaifi Ali and the other two Muslim clerics who have been arrested, Maulana Mohammad Mufti Naeem Kazmi and Imam Maulana Anwarul Haq, and explain to them that authentic Islam and the proper reading of the Qur’an are opposed to every form of violence.
