In Gonesse, Val-d’Oise, a resident who lives in the same apartment building as Mickaël Harpon, the attacker at the Paris police headquarters who killed 4 police officers and wounded another seriously, attests that, on the night before the murderous act, the killer shouted “Allah Akbar!” twice around 3-4am. This 35-year-old policeman has heard this testimony from a neighbor of Mickaël Harpon, a police officer too, who lives in the killer’s building.
The residence includes many tenants from the ranks of the police, depending on the neighborhood. “He told me that on Thursday morning, around 3-4 o’clock, he heard ‘Allah Akbar!’ twice; it woke him up. This voice came from the apartment of Mickaël Harpon, he assured me, and it was after the attack on the prefecture Thursday at midday that he made the link with what happened in the night.
Neighbors say that Mickaël Harpon was converted to Islam “for longer than 18 months”, “in any case he had been practicing for a long time”, and attended the mosque of Fauconnière, Gonesse. Another neighbor, former police officer of the Paris police headquarters, Jean-Paul Mazoyer, testified that he saw Mickaël Harpon early in the morning in a djellaba go to the mosque to pray, accompanied by two other people….
