Temporary marriage or pleasure marriage, i.e. prostitution behind the hypocritical fig leaf of a “marriage” with a time limit, is an established Shi’ite concept that is also prevalent among some Sunnis. It has been practiced among Sunnis in Egypt and Saudi Arabia, although Sunnis ostensibly reject it.
Shi’ites justify temporary marriage, mutah, by their reading of Qur’an 4:24:
And all married women (are forbidden unto you) save those (captives) whom your right hands possess. It is a decree of Allah for you. Lawful unto you are all beyond those mentioned, so that ye seek them with your wealth in honest wedlock, not debauchery. And those of whom ye seek content (by marrying them), give unto them their portions as a duty. And there is no sin for you in what ye do by mutual agreement after the duty (hath been done). Lo! Allah is ever Knower, Wise.
They see in this marriage as something contracted by means of payment (“give them their portions”) for a specified time by mutual agreement.
“Linz: Afghan marries native girls (17, 18) to have sex,” translated from “Linz: Afghane heiratet einheimische Mädchen (17, 18) um Sex zu haben,” Wochenblick, October 24, 2019 (thanks to Searchlight Germany):
The story is unbelievable: a 34-year-old Afghan man, who is said to have a wife and seven children in his home country, lives a particularly wild life in Linz. Because his wife is far away, but apparently he does not want to renounce sex, he is said to have drugged two local girls (17 and 18 years old) filled with the drug Crystal Meth and married them in a mosque in Linz.
With such a “pleasure marriage,” according to Muslim rules, infidelities are allowed. The man was arrested after clues were found at the scene on Monday in Linz. During the house search, police officers found money and a small amount of marijuana.
The asylum seeker is said to have married a 17-year-old girl and an 18-year-old (both addicted to drugs) under Islamic law in a mosque on Humboldtstraße in Linz in order to have sex with them without a bad religious conscience.
The Afghan is said to have distributed several kilograms of marijuana and about 90 grams of crystal meth, and also supplied Afghan dealers. He was not cooperative in the interrogations. He was transferred to the Linz Prison on Tuesday.
