Troubling news: “The global community must band together to combat terrorism, Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas said as he took over the chairmanship of the United Nations Group of 77 and China, the organization’s largest bloc of member states.” This marks a low point even for the UN, long known for its many resolutions unfairly targeting Israel. Abbas is a jihadist himself, and is now talking about the global community banding together to combat terrorism, by which he means that the world should band together to fight against Israel.
Consider these points:
Abbas did his PhD thesis on Holocaust denial. He pays for the jihad murder of Jews (1.2 billion shekels for jihad terror in 2018) and pays money to the family of jihadists who murder Jews. 1.2 billion shekels is $319,000,000 in US dollars.
The money is classified as “pay to slay” salaries “for Arabs convicted of attacking Israeli Jews in 2018…..The budget allocated funding to 5,000 families of convicts, pocket money to be used at prison commissaries for 6,000 convicts, stipends for 5,500 released convicts and financial grants for 1,500 convicts to be received upon their release.” In July, Abbas vowed to continue paying the salaries to jihad terrorists and their families, even if “we have only a penny left.” He also used a UN speech to praise jihad terrorists as “our hero martyrs.” Now he’s saying that the UN “must provide the Palestinians with an international protection force.” What he means is that he wants the UN to help him destroy Israel.
“Abbas calls for end to terrorism as he takes over largest U.N. bloc,” by Khaled Abu Toameh and Tovah Lazaroff, Jerusalem Post, January 15, 2019:
In New York, Abbas said the United Nations must provide the Palestinians with an international protection force, he remarked on Monday.
The global community must band together to combat terrorism, Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas said on Tuesday as he took over the chairmanship of the United Nations Group of 77 and China, the organization’s largest bloc of member states.
He broke the proceedings at UN headquarters in New York to condemn terrorism after hearing during the meeting that gunmen blasted their way into a hotel and office complex in the Kenyan capital on Tuesday, killing at least seven.
The attack occurred as Abbas was in the middle of leading his meeting as chairman of the Group of 77 in New York.
“Terrorism takes place worldwide on a daily basis. It is an epidemic and I therefore call on all countries of the world to cooperate, to put an end to terrorism, to uproot it,” Abbas said.
“The state of Palestine has adopted 83 protocols with 83 countries throughout the world to put an end to this scourge and to fight against terrorism, and I call on all states to work with us to combat terrorism,” he said. But he made no mention of Palestinian terror attacks against Israelis, nor did he take responsibility for them….
