Iran has arrested four suspected militants involved in a car suicide bombing in southeastern Sistan and Baluchestan province this week, according to the semi-official Fars news agency.
The suspects were arrested in various cities in the province in connection with Thursday’s attack in the city of Chabahar, the Fars news agency report on Saturday stated, quoting Ali Movahedirad, provincial prosecutor.
“Investigations will continue into the role of the suspects in the terrorist operations and the identification of the main agents of the incident,” he said.
A suicide car bomber struck a police headquarters in the port city of Chabahar, killing at least two policemen and wounding 42 people, on Thursday.
The Sunni jihadist group Ansar al-Furqan claimed responsibility for the attack.
Other attacks in Iran over recent years have been carried out the the Islamic State group, and Baluchi or Azhwazi seperatists….
Iran had accused Saudi Arabia of being behind the attack.
