“Ftouhi believed he was a soldier of Allah. His mission was to kill Americans until he himself was killed. Ftouhi wanted to a be a martyr for Allah. He wanted to die for his cause.”
No doubt Pope Francis is on his way to Flint right now to explain to Amor Ftouhi that authentic Islam and the proper reading of the Qur’an reject every form of violence. No doubt a legion of moderate Muslims are on their way as well. Perhaps John Brennan and John Kerry can go also. We are constantly told that Islamic jihadis have nothing to do with Islam, when they themselves constantly insist otherwise. No one, however, seems particularly concerned about this anomaly.
“Accused Flint airport stabber ‘on a mission to murder,’ U.S. attorney says,” by Dominic Adams, MLive.com, November 7, 2018 (thanks to Brian):
FLINT, MI – Federal believe Amor Ftouhi was “on a mission to murder” when he traveled to Michigan from Canada and then to Bishop Airport where Ftouhi allegedly stabbed a Bishop police officer in June 2017.
Opening statements and witnesses testimony began on Wednesday, Nov. 7 in Ftouhi’s terrorism trial in Flint U.S. District Court.
“Ftouhi believed he was a soldier of Allah. His mission was to kill Americans until he himself was killed,” Jules DePorre, an assistant prosecutor with the U.S. Attorney’s Office, said during his opening statement. “Ftouhi wanted to a be a martyr for Allah. He wanted to die for his cause.”…
Ftouhi planned to go to Bishop Airport, stab a police officer and take his gun and start shooting others inside the airport until he was killed, DePorre said during his opening statement.
“He believed that by committing the attack it would improve the likelihood he would be admitted into heaven,” DePorre told the jury of eight men and six women. “He believed by committing his attack there he would embolden others.”
