Speaking as a former Muslim, I consider the late Muhammad Ali to be a colossal fool for initially converting to Islam and an eternal fool for remaining in it and promoting it until the time of his death.
Muhammad Ali was certainly a highly-skilled tough guy in the boxing ring, but he failed colossally in the more important game of life. Sadly, many folks consider Ali to be a hero – when in actuality he was an exceptionally irresponsible fool of a man for devoting himself to and being a salesman for the virulent cult of Mohammedanism.
I myself foolishly converted to Islam and stayed in the religion for approximately 4 years. Upon discovering the extent of how immoral and false Islam is, I safely walked away from it. As an ex-Muslim, I acknowledge the fact that Islamic theology is filled with inhumane teachings and dictates as they relate to the killing of apostates (here), the rape of infidel women (here), wife-beating (here), child adoption (here) and homosexuality (here).
In my view, it is the duty of Muslim celebrities such as the late Muhammad Ali to become aware of the gruesome facts of Islamic theology noted above and reject them. The foundation of Islam is based entirely upon the word of one man – Muhammad, the prophet of Islam. The Quran and hadith repeatedly proclaim that Muhammad is the final prophet of God (Quran 33:40) who is to be unwaveringly obeyed (3:138, 6:114, 16:89).
The prophet of Islam quite possibly never even existed. And if he did it only makes matters worse – as Muhammad was primarily a dictatorial warlord who commonly raped infidel women, traded slaves, and plundered infidel caravans. This creates an awful conundrum when one considers the fact that the supposedly perfect Quran (5:3) proclaims that Muhammad has set and excellent example for Muslim believers to follow (Q 33:21).
The prophet of Islam owned and traded slaves as if they were bubble gum and referred to black Africans as being “raisin heads” who should submit to and obey their Islamic rulers. The hadiths below are considered by the majority of Muslims to be the authentic and authoritative Islamic texts giving context to the Quran and adding further explanatory detail.

Narrated by Anas bin Malik: Allah’s Apostle said, “You should listen to and obey, your ruler even if he was an Ethiopian (black) slave whose head looks like a raisin.”
Sahih Bukhari, Vol.4 Book 52, No. 196:
Narrated Abu Huraira: “ Allah’s Apostle said, “I have been ordered to fight with the people till they say, ‘None has the right to be worshipped but Allah,’ and whoever says, ‘None has the right to be worshipped but Allah,’ his life and property will be be saved by me except for Islamic law, and his account will be with Allah, (either to punish him or to forgive him)”
As an African American, boxer Muhammad Ali should have despised and opposed the religion of Islam based on rationality and an in-depth study of Islam’s core texts (which include the permissibility of slavery) and Islamic history. Ali made a simple mistake – as I did – and embraced an awful religion. But he lacked the personal integrity and courage to reject and oppose it. Shame on him.
