UPDATE: The flag on the device actually looks more like this parody of the ISIS flag:
So this isn’t ISIS. Who it is, however, remains a mystery.

No one seems to have noticed at CNN, which is running strongly with the idea that some “right-wing extremist” sent these. However, the Islamic State flag is unmistakable in the CNN photo:
No hint of it in the coverage, however. It wouldn’t fit the narrative.
Last month:
California: Muslim pulled over in routine traffic stop, two IEDs discovered in his car
All this doesn’t mean that the Islamic State sent the packages. They could have been sent by a “right-wing extremist” who wanted to make it seem as if the perpetrator was ISIS. However, the Islamic State would certainly benefit from giving the appearance that Democrats were being attacked, leading to a sympathy vote for those who would make things easy for them. It is something that shouldn’t simply be ignored, however.
“Suspicious packages sent to Time Warner Center, Clinton and Obama,” by Eric Levenson, Sophie Tatum, Meg Wagner, Brian Ries, Paul P. Murphy and Veronica Rocha, CNN, October 24, 2018:
What we’re covering here
Suspicious packages: Potential explosive devices were mailed to Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, liberal billionaire George Soros, former CIA director John Brennan and Former Attorney General Eric Holder over the past few days.
Meanwhile, at CNN: The Time Warner Center in New York, where CNN is based, was evacuated on Wednesday — the device addressed to Brennan was sent to CNN. We’re still reporting off-site.
The return address: Many of the packages had their return addresses listed as Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s address. From Brynn Gingras, Mary Anne Fox, and David Shortell:
The package with an explosive device sent to CNN’s New York offices today was addressed to former CIA Director John Brennan, according to city and local law enforcement officials.
Brennan, an official in the Obama administration, is a frequent CNN guest and Trump critic whose security clearance was revoked by the President this summer.
The device found in the 10 Columbus Circle mailroom is similar to the ones addressed to Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, and George Soros, a law enforcement source says.
Another law enforcement official tells CNN’s Evan Perez that the initial examination of all of the devices shows them to be constructed similarly. At least one of the devices appeared to contain projectiles, including shards of glass. The devices are rudimentary but functional….
