Jihad Watch writer Christine Douglass-Williams has been in Warsaw this past week, at the conference of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE). Here are videos of two of her brief interventions there, calling upon the OSCE to prioritize victims of jihad violence in Europe’s refugee programs, and for migrants to assimilate into Western cultures.
This is the message that needs to be spoken, and spoken again and again, in as many European and American forums as possible. The Yazidis and Middle Eastern Christians are actual refugees, victims of the Islamic State (ISIS) jihad (and the jihad by other Islamic entities as well) that displaced them from their homes where they had been for over a millennium. (Those who point to the fact that these non-Muslim communities had survived for centuries under Islamic rule without being exiled and massacred are ignorant of history. They lived under Islamic rule for most of that time as subjugated dhimmis, always declining in strength and numbers; when ISIS came in, it demanded their submission, and treated them as kuffar harbi — infidels at war with Islam, who could lawfully be killed — when they didn’t get it.) Any commonsensical refugee policy would give the non-Muslims priority, but common sense is not much in evidence in our age.
It’s the same situation with the assimilation of refugees and migrants: if they don’t accept the culture and mores of their new land, the society will atomize and, sooner or later, come apart, probably with bloodshed. But once again, common sense is in short supply these days.
Christine and other delegates to the OSCE stood firmly for the freedom of speech in this era of encroaching totalitarianism:
