EU president Jean-Claude Juncker has made an usual about-face, now changing his tune about open-door immigration….
The European Union (EU) is ramping up its military capacities through plans for a 10,000-strong armed border force that will lead a crackdown on illegal immigration.
Three years ago, Juncker unveiled plans for a “united European migration policy” to facilitate “hundreds of thousands of economic migrants” being “allowed to settle in Europe.” Last year, Juncker renewed his call for more migrants and a utopian dream of “a super-state with its OWN taxes as he claims UK will regret Brexit.”
Now something has shifted. Brussels is now cracking down on migrants, and Juncker is arming border officers. Many politicians have long had the unsavory habit of running to embrace any position they felt would earn them popularity, even if harmful to their nations and to free societies in general, and even if they involved betraying their people and subjecting them to jihad attacks and other criminal assaults. So here is a possible reason for Juncker’s about-face:
The rise of anti-establishment parties across the continent has stoked concern over immigration.
This trend has shaken Brussels to the core. The latest show of concern over immigration came from Sweden, reflected in its election outcome. The country that has been ravaged by crime and violent, expanding no-go zones, attributed to Muslim migration, just experienced a shift in popular support from the Leftist Social Democrats to parties to the right of center — including significant support for the Sweden Democrats, which is smeared by its detractors as having “neo-Nazi” roots.
Prior to the Swedish election, Italy came out strongly to resist mass migration and expel illegal immigrants. The Visegrad group (Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic) has stood against mass Muslim migration from the beginning. Austria joined in, and even some politicians in Germany, where Angela Merkel has made some self-serving and convenient U-turns. Germany has seen massive protests against Merkel’s open-door policy; Cottbus, one of the German cities where protests took place, imposed a temporary ban on taking in new migrants.

The move is expected to be announced on Wednesday, in commission president Jean-Claude Juncker’s annual state of the union address.
The force would reportedly have extensive powers to bear arms and even intervene beyond EU borders.
A senior EU official described it as a “moment of truth” if Europe is serious about policing its borders and maintaining its core freedom of movement principal.
But it has already provoked criticism from human rights groups who warned against creating a “fortress” towards outsiders, just because members cannot agree on how to deal with migration.

A draft European Commission document setting out the plans, said the force’s role will be to protect “external borders, prevent secondary movements [between EU countries] and significantly step up the effective return of irregular migrants”……
