Former NBA star Kareem Abdul-Jabbar says that the national anthem, is indistinguishable from a “slave song”….the Laker legend said that NFL players are required to stand for the anthem just like pre-Civil War slaves were expected to sing during their work….
The average NFL player makes nearly $3,000,000 annually, amid wild cheering from starry-eyed fans. Perhaps this image reminds Kareem Abdul-Jabbar of the horrors of American slavery. He is not only a propagandist, but does an enormous disservice to those who suffered under slavery, and those who still do.
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, whose original name was Lew Alcindor, converted to Islam in 1971. He once stated with reference to his conversion:
“One question that bothered me was how so many people could claim to be devout Christians, yet still justify the brutality they committed against black people.”
Yet Islamic doctrine justifies slavery, including sex slavery, and brutality against slaves to boot (see, for example, Abu Dawud 1814; Abu Dawud 4458; and Abu Dawud 2155).
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar should ask himself why groups such as the Islamic State and Boko Haram took sex slaves in recent years, and why black slavery persists in Muslim countries such as Mauritania and Niger. He should also ponder the question of why racism against blacks is rampant and openly tolerated among Arabs.
Unfortunately, Abdul-Jabbar is promoting the hate and victimology that often propels jihad, as well as Leftist racist groups such as Black Lives Matter.

In an August 14 editorial for The Hollywood Reporter, the Laker legend said that NFL players are required to stand for the anthem just like pre-Civil War slaves were expected to sing during their work, Fox News reported.“Currently, the song being demanded is the national anthem during football games. But during a warm-up game on Aug. 10, despite President Trump’s previous condemnation, several Eagles players kneeled during the anthem or raised their fists — their way of singing their own song,” Abdul-Jabbar wrote.
“For them, lyrics like ‘land of the free’ don’t accurately represent the daily reality for people of color,” the Hall of Famer accused. “They love their country but want that country to recognize the suffering that occurs when it isn’t living up to its constitutional promises.”
Abdul-Jabbar also attacked President Donald Trump’s claim that many players don’t understand what the protests are really about…..
