Reuters says: “A series of bombings in Kabul has killed dozens of people in recent months and shown no sign of easing during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.”
There is no reason why it would ease during Ramadan. During Ramadan, Muslims redouble their efforts to please Allah. Allah commands the death of those who are considered to be heretics and apostates, as these clerics calling for peace likely were. Thus it is less surprising that they would be murdered during Ramadan than it would be at any other time of year.
