This is not “extremist” Islam. This is the standard, mainstream religion. It’s a hadith in a collection that Muslims consider authentic:
“Abu Huraira reported Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: The last hour would not come unless the Muslims will fight against the Jews and the Muslims would kill them until the Jews would hide themselves behind a stone or a tree and a stone or a tree would say: Muslim, or the servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me; come and kill him; but the tree Gharqad would not say, for it is the tree of the Jews.” (Sahih Muslim 6985)
Muslims in North Carolina don’t have a different version of Islamic texts and teachings from the version Muslims have elsewhere. They have the same Qur’an, the same Sunnah. Why should anyone expect them not to teach the things these sources say?
But what are American authorities going to do when they realize this is not twisted, hijacked Islam, but orthodox Islam? Or will it be too late by then?

In a December 8 Friday sermon delivered in a mosque in the Raleigh North Carolina area, U.S.-based Syrian Imam Abdullah Khadra cited an antisemitic hadith: “The Prophet gave us the glad tidings that at the End of Time, we will fight those Jews until the rocks and the trees will speak: ‘Oh Muslim, this is a Jew behind me’.” He said that “those occupiers made some legends, and they made the [Wall of Buraq] their own wall, and they distorted the facts.” Imam Khadra added that Haifa, Acre, and Jaffa are Muslims land, and prayed: “May Allah destroy everyone who wants evil for Islam and Muslims.” The sermon was posted by Imam Khadra on his personal YouTube account.
Abdullah Khadra: “Our first qibla, dear brothers and sisters – it is not new that it is under occupation since 1967. It is not new that the other parts, the neighboring parts of Al-Quds, which is Palestine – Jaffa, Acre, and Haifa, those cities that have now been changed in their names and their people… We should never ever forget that this is a Muslim land.

“We should teach our children that it is our land and will remain our land, and will return to us sooner or later. But the question is: Will you be among those who will contribute to regaining it or not? The Prophet Muhammad gave us the glad tidings that at the End of Time, we will fight those Jews until the rocks and the trees will speak: ‘Oh Muslim, this is a Jew behind me.’
