This is an odd and anomalous development, left unexplained, of course, by a clueless, lazy, and agenda-driven establishment media. Ordinarily jihad mass murderers want the death penalty (cf. Fort Hood jihad mass murderer Nidal Malik Hasan and Oklahoma beheader Alton Nolen), because they think it will seal their reception of Allah’s guarantee of Paradise to those who “kill and are killed” for him (Qur’an 9:111). Not wanting execution could be an indication of apostasy, or else of a decision to try to tie up as much of the Infidel’s time and money as possible in useless court proceedings. Note that the defense has said that if the prosecution seeks death, they will need until September 2019 to prepare their defense. Yet everyone knows this jihadi was the perpetrator. If Saipov is telling his defense attorneys to go this route, it’s just a jihad of wasting the kuffar’s resources. If they originated the strategy, they’re just playing the Useful Idiot role quite nicely.
“Isis terrorist who struck New York will admit killing 8 if he’s spared execution,” by Jimmy McCloskey, Metro, January 18, 2018:
An Isis terrorist accused of killing eight people by deliberately driving a truck down a Manhattan bike path at Halloween will plead guilty to the crime if he is spared the death penalty.
Sayfullo Saipov’s lawyer David Patton made the announcement in court papers Wednesday, writing: ‘In short, a decision by the government not to seek the death penalty would bring immediate closure to the case without the need for the public and victims to repeatedly relive the terrible events.’
Mr Patton and lawyers from Federal Defenders of New York added that if the government does seek death, they will need until September 2019 to prepare their defense.
Uzbekistan immigrant Saipov, who initially pleaded not guilty, is said to have had Isis propaganda on his cell phone.
And he is still likely to face the death penalty, with prosecutors saying they will not decide whether to push for it until his lawyers provide them with any mitigating circumstances….
Saipov arrived in the U.S. as a legal immigrant in 2010….
