CINCINNATI — A grand jury has indicted an Ohio man on a charge of attempting to provide material support or resources to the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham, or ISIS, federal officials said.
Laith Waleed Alebbini, 26, of Dayton, was arrested April 26 at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport.
Officials said Alebbini, a citizen of Jordan and a legal permanent resident of the United States as of April 2014, attempted to travel to Syria via a flight to Turkey or Jordan in order to fight with the Islamic State group against Syrian leadership.
