While children in Qatar and elsewhere in the Islamic world are being taught about the glories of Islamic conquests, European and American children are being taught that Islam was always part of Europe and the West, that their own Judeo-Christian culture was and is corrupt, racist and imperialistic, and that wars never solved anything.
What will be the outcome of this?
“Qatari Educational Software on Islamic Conquests in Europe,” MEMRI, February 11 and 29, 2016:
Animated videos posted on the Internet teach children about Islamic conquests in Europe. The videos were produced as educational software for “Boys and Girls,” the children’s section of the Qatari government-owned Internet portal Islamweb.net. A large number of the portal’s educational videos were posted on various YouTube accounts. One video discusses the conquest of Al-Andalus, which was “in order to spread the light of Islam.” “This is how Islam entered Al-Andalus, where it built a great civilization,” an animated character says. Another video describes the conquest of Belgrade, “the fortified city that was the pride of Europe.” The videos were posted on the Internet in February 2016.

Animated character of young boy: Assalaam alaykum, and Allah’s blessings and mercy upon you. How are you, my friends? Today, I’m going to talk with you about a glorious Islamic conquest, which took place during the month of Ramadhan – the conquest of Al-Andalus. Have you heard about Al-Andalus, my friends? It is a beautiful green land, conquered by the Muslims on 28 Ramadhan 92 AH [711 CE].
Let’s go over the events of this conquest quickly: After the Muslims had conquered North Africa, under the command of Musa bin Nusayr, and everything had stabilized there, Musa sent a letter to the Caliph, asking for his permission to continue the campaign into Europe, and to conquer Al-Andalus. The Caliph was delighted and agreed immediately. The troops rejoiced when they heard of the Caliph’s decision, and started to prepare the ships to cross into Al-Andalus, in order to spread the light of Islam.
After all the preparations had been completed, the Emir Musa bin Nusayr ordered the army to set out, under the courageous commander Tariq ibn Ziyad. The troops set sail to Al-Andalus. Assalaam alaykum, and Allah’s blessings and mercy upon you. Are you ready to learn about the history of Islam? Today, I am going to tell you about a great Muslim conquest, which rocked the foundations of all European countries. I’m talking about the conquest of Belgrade on 4 Ramadhan 927 AH [1521 CE], under the leadership of Suleiman the Magnificent, one of the Ottoman sultans. The city of Belgrade was the key to central Europe, and its famous fortress was one of the greatest fortresses of Europe, and the most impenetrable of them all.

When the Muslim army reached the fortress of Belgrade, they placed their cannons around it, and started shelling it non-stop, in accordance with the plan. The attacks continued for three consecutive weeks, until the troops shelled the largest tower, which collapsed, along with the morale of the soldiers inside. Then the Muslims stormed the fortress, sowing destruction. They fought until Allah granted them victory and they conquered Belgrade – the fortified city that was the pride of Europe.
