This is how charges of “racism” and “Islamophobia” are weaponized against those who oppose jihad mass murder and Sharia oppression of women. There is nothing “racist” or “Islamophobic” about this cartoon. It doesn’t mention Tlaib’s race or her religion. It merely makes fun of her for her unapologetic and open support of the jihad against Israel, which allies her with jihad terror groups including Hizballah. For Tlaib and others like her, however, charging “racism” and “Islamophobia” is the all-purpose response to any criticism, no matter how mild.

US Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib has condemned a political cartoon published by the National Review that portrays her with an exploding pager, calling it racist and Islamophobic.

The cartoon, created by Henry Payne, references recent explosions in Lebanon where pagers used by Hezbollah members reportedly detonated, resulting in numerous deaths and injuries.

Israel has been accused of being responsible for the explosions, though it has not officially claimed responsibility.

Tlaib, the only Palestinian American in Congress and a fierce critic of Israel’s military actions, said the cartoon would incite further hate and violence against Arab and Muslim communities.

“Our community is already in so much pain,” Tlaib wrote on social media, adding that such depictions normalize racism and put lives at risk.

The cartoon showed a woman labeled as “Rep. Tlaib” sitting next to a pager that explodes while she comments, “ODD. MY PAGER JUST EXPLODED.”

Payne’s title for the cartoon, “Tlaib Pager Hamas,” sparked outrage online, with many social media users condemning it as offensive. Dearborn Mayor Abdullah Hammoud called the cartoon “disgusting” and criticized the normalization of anti-Arab bigotry….

        • I give the Dachau liberation reprisals people a pass. Those guys had been fighting the Germans and treating them fairly when captured. When they came upon that horrific scene at Dachau some of the men responded unkindly.

        • It was spur of the moment emotions in some. Patton, a fair man, understood that. It wasn’t US military (nor US civilian) policy. You couldn’t have got Americans of that day who were on the battlefield or at home to engage in what the enemy was doing.

        • Long ago my mother told me a story about her childhood in a small town of Mississippi during WWII. She was born in early 1938. She remembered driving in a car and seeing men working on the side of the road. She was maybe 5 or 6 I think. She asked who is that and whoever was driving said Germans. Later in life she realized they were not just Germans but German POW’s. She had pretty good recollection for her age at the time. She even remembered that unlike a chain gang they weren’t wearing and restraints and weren’t looking un-nourished or unhealthy.

          At the same time there are genuinely good peaceful Muslims…some of them don’t leave Islam because they fear for their lives or they go into hiding. They are a minority, but they exist.

          As for amputations…harmless muslims wouldn’t cross that line, that is a contradiction.

          Sadly Rick, that is a conundrum that we face when dealing with muslims.

          I have always said there is a hidden group of muslims that are against homicidal mania. However, that group wont say a word because they are more afraid of the maniacs than anything else. I also believe that given the chance, a safe chance, many of those muslims would leave islam. And so, not muslim anymore. But again, there we see that conundrum rearing its ugly head again.

          Add to that the fact that the powers that be in the West have shown/proven that they will not be there to protect those ones from the homicidal maniac side. So yes, they keep silent, live as best as they can under the radar, hoping someone someday will come to their rescue. This is the most complicated fight we Westerners have ever had to fight.

          I think it’s esp. bad for the “enlightened” Muslims in the mideast, surrounded by millions of zombie lunatics who’d be happy to form a mob and tear them to shreds in the streets for becoming apostates.

          Ofc they’ll accuse them of insulting Mohammad or ripping pages of the Quran to get their fellow loons riled up to kill them.

          So they have to stay silent and go along to get along. I recall one devout Muslim said “yes we know there are apostates are among us, but so long as they act like a Muslim, say their prayers, fast, don’t cause problems, then they’re basically Muslims.” And he laughed about it because he knew they were trapped in that rotten lifestyle.

          There’s a very easy solution here…we ban/criminalize Islam in the West, most Muslims will probably leave quietly and the ones that remain are probably the ones we want anyways (and allow them to convert to any other faith)…because they love the West, freedom, etc.

          But as mentioned we’ll probably need a vetting process to make sure no actual Jihadis, ticking tiimebumbs are left behind.

          Some might have to be forced to leave….now this all assumes our leaders wake up and proactively go after Islam as Geert Wilders would do-if other parties didn’t stop him.

          I think in most western nations, people will keep ignoring the problem until terrorists attacks are a daily occurrence and Islamic violence is out of control. Then the authorities will have to come down very hard on muslims, including sending in the military-it could easily morph into civil war by that point.

          And that could be the most optimistic outcome given how lazy, complacement and stupid humans are. The worst case scenario is that Muslims eventually become the majority under our noses and vote themselves into power, and turn our nations into Islamic states.

          Given the way things are going now, if we don’t have enough people fighting back, that’s the most likely scenario…like how Nazism took over Germany. I really hope we stop it in time but anything can happen…and right now it looks like Muslims have the upper hand.

  4. No problem with the cartoon – political cartoons are not Disney nor are they intended to be flattering. They illustrate a point or an absurdity like a Court Jester, to cause thought about delusion, authoritarianism, hypocrisy, and overreach. The US Constitution guarantees Free Vocal Expression Without Penalties. There is a legal way to change that and it is not by media or celebrity outrage. Get over yourselves and read it. The constiturion, not you or I, is the bedrock of our society.

    Tlaib shows no love for US citizens and promotes her “native” nation. The cartoon does not wish evil upon her, rather it illustrates the danger inherent in closeness to people who fight against the US and Israel. Maybe the message is, “avoid gifts of WiFi devices from the ME”.

    We accuse other nations of despotism when they censor without recognizing the growing hypocrisy of our own Deep State and educational institutions. Are we, through example, encouraging certain EU leaders into servile despotism – taking US orders and censoring their citizens?

    The arrogant pc thinks the famous nun, Theresa, and the once PM of Israel, Ms. Golda, are ugly (that’s why he brings them up for the discussion), but for some reason, it chaps his hide that I say what I think about r tlaib. He must see something in her face that no one else does.
    And he can’t see the beauty in some who may be really wrinkled or have plain features, because their kindness comes from religion, found in the Bible.

    Furthermore, I don’t take orders on what to think, believe or write from any human, esp an atheist who somehow believes he can censor people and their speech. If he doesn’t like what I write, he can pass on by.
    But, he wants to try to get others on his side, so he keeps attacking me….for what I write about the ugly ghouls, and for what I write about my faith…which he claims is irrelevant.

        One thing I have noticed are the women who are in places like afghanistan, all covered up except for their eyes. And some of them have the most incredible eyes…beautiful. And so very sad.

          We can bring freedom back to these countries, simply by helping the non-Muslims of the countries to rule again with our military support and then either re-educate (a la China) Muslims or eliminate them if they’re of the ISIS variety…until they are no more.

          As for PRCS and Crescent, when I wrote that they seemed like two different people but then I replied to Crescent and he answered from his PRCS account, so it’s probably the same rat-fink from the same account…one is his more palatable “western” persona and the other is his Palestinian, true form.

          But I’ll treat them accordingly-this person(s) is insignificant to me…I don’t know what he thinks he’s accomplishing here other than being a troll, but that’s fine he has some entertainment value.

        • thank you again, Rick, for your response. I enjoy reading the thoughts of others, and so many say things in ways with which I agree, but had not put into words.

          I try to ignore that certain person. One day, I was reading the news and saw an article about the ambulance/medical service in Gaza….set up years ago by yasser arafat’s brother; and noticed the initials prcs….and had to laugh because he had been harassing me. And it went from there.

          I appreciate the thoughtful feedback. And the problem of people being trapped by islam and the evil fanatics who think nothing of murdering someone who just wants to breathe free, seems unsolvable. I feel bad for those ones and hope for things to change soon.

          Indeed, I think JW attracts many thoughtful people here and sometimes people say things in a way that I hadn’t considered also. It’s great that we can all learn from one another.

          You summed it up well, some people just want to breathe, live free-enjoy life but to a group of insane warmongers, that’s totally unacceptable for them and they want us either dead, enslaved or converted to their hive-mind death cult.

          I recall one migrant in France killed a man and his gf because they were happy and it made him angry and jealous…this is what we’re dealing with.

          We did nothing to these people but invited them to our peaceful nations and this is how they repay us. Not even an argument, not even a fight, he just went for murder because they were happy and he couldn’t stand it.

          It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out you cannot live in peace with people who are intolerant of you and your way of life…either they must be sent away or destroyed in warfare, like the Nazis.

          Well nobody should be able to make you feel uncomfortable to post here…so if you feel PRCS is really getting on your nerves, giving you anxiety (as some people do have health issues), then I’d recommend reporting him to Robert or the mods…otherwise you can try to ignore him if you’re ok with that.

          It’s really difficult at times. I first came to this site and just read because I was doing research ( for university courses) on different terror groups and the sites having info on islam were rare.
          But, I could see that some posters were less informed on the whole subject of terrorism and how to fight it and I thought I could help enlighten and help some better understand.
          I have learned a lot, but it has been stressful. pcrs is not the only poster who has seemed to take a personal dislike to me. He began attacking me after I replied to something he said and I guess he didn’t like the correction….years ago.

          Anyway, I have tried to ignore the needling. The reason I needled back was because I guess I thought it might be funny, and he might lighten up.
          I’ll keep on trying. I appreciate all of the feedback he received from you guys.

          My day was going well until I was stung by a wasp. Four times. Put vinegar on it and the stings stopped hurting. that was a good part, too. 🙂

          Tliab is ugly no doubt. I hate to agree with PRCS-but it is true that Mother Theresa was an evil person.

          On the surface we all thought she was a noble individual, but in fact she made her patients suffer terribly and refused to give them pain meds…because she felt their suffering would bring them closer to god or something.

          Hippocratic Oath: ‘First do no harm’…and she was doing a lot of harm and getting a lot of money for her charity as I recall. I’m sure there are great examples of Christians doing good works, but she is a bad choice. Sorry to say.

        • Rick, thanks for the advice. And I had no idea about the nun. I had never read anything about her beyond that she “helped” the poor and sick, just saw her photo (nothing like the closeups of tlaib) when she was old and bent, wrinkled, etc. and the media was always praising her.
          thanks for setting me straight on that.

          It isn’t Christian to force another helpless person to live by a person’s own ideas.
          Jesus certainly gave help, as did His apostles. they never told the one suffering that their pain would get them closer to God.
