"No ham for Christmas: Muslim menu for WA hospital," from the Sunday Times, with thanks to all who sent this in:
A WA hospital has scrubbed baked ham from its Christmas menu, fearing Muslim patients could be offended.It has also overhauled its entire menu so that all meals are now halal – containing only meat and other food prepared according to Muslim customs.
But Port Hedland Regional Hospital staff and many non-Muslim patients are outraged, saying it is a case of political correctness gone mad.
Kitchen staff are so angry that they have organised a petition demanding ham be put back on the Christmas menu.
Other WA hospitals are also introducing halal dining, though the Health Department says Port Hedland is the only one to convert its entire menu to suit Muslims.
Hospital directors decided to axe the traditional festive season baked ham because of the high percentage of Muslim patients.
Eating pork or ham is forbidden under Muslim custom.
Until now, Muslims were asked to supply their own food if they did not want to eat hospital fare.
The hospital's nursing director, Judy Davis, said though ham was not on the menu, Christian patients would not miss out on festive cheer.
"We'll still make Christmas special – we've got prawns and all sorts of other special treats," she said.
Ah, those old traditional Christmas prawns. Makes my eyes mist up. But it looks to me as if the non-Muslim patients in this hospital are only a prawn in their game.
But one long-time Port Hedland hospital worker told The Sunday Times the menu change was "unAustralian"."It's going to be a boring old Christmas lunch for the patients," he said.
"After all, what's Christmas without a ham, or Sunday morning without bacon and eggs?
"The management of the hospital are unable to stand up to a minority and keep our Australian way of life intact. They are bowing to the pressure of a select few."

Is this hospital funded by the taxpayer or a private one ?? If it is funded by Taxpayers IT IS A NATIONAL DISGRACE and that silly tart Judy Davis should be sacked immediately. Please note there are no demands by Jews [even if they're not
allowed pork either],Hindus or Buddhists to change hospital menus anywhere. THE ARROGANT DEMANDS OF MUSLIMS MUST BE CHECKED NOW - THEY SHOULD BE TOLD TO SHAPE UP OR SHIP OUT TO AN ISLAMIC HELLHOLE - no re-entry.

Family members of patients and the local community should respond to this dumb dhimmi policy by the Port Hedland Hospital. Bring along as many press as possible with elaborate ham dinners for the Christian patients. Other groups can protest the cruel method by which "halal" meat is obtained, including promises from past or future patients that they will refuse halal food in accordance with THEIR beliefs and customs. Surely the hospital has a board or committee that they are accountable to in one way or another. Write and call in protest about this policy. Get local politicians involved. Public institutions should never give into this type of Muslim accomodation. It will never stop. The next step would be hajabs for all the female personnel in the hospital, so as not to offed Muslim feelings. Sam-I-Am, serve up the ham to the infidels...and leave the green (Islamic green) eggs for the Muslims.

But prawns aren’t kosher! The Aussies are really going to offend the Jews! I expect them to start rioting any minute. I can just see it, rabbis with Talmud volumes exhorting yeshiva bochers to take to the streets and burn cars!

Unbelievable. I suppose I could grasp a special halal menu to cater to Muslims, but to impose it on all? This is quintessential dhimmitude.

The difference between the dietary demands of Muslims from that of Jews, Hindus and Buddhists is the Islamic totalitarians want to impose their ways on everybody else. An observant Jew will insist on keeping kosher only for himself while the Muslim will even demand that toy pigs be removed from sight.
Maybe this is because Jews, Hindus, and Buddhists are secure in having real religions while the poor Muslim is obviously so insecure about being trapped in his violent cult.

This madness is self-imposed. Self imposed and becoming frequent. The population of Australia or any other western nation which voluntarily submits to this culturally suicidal insanity...deserves whatever the hell happens to it. Too bad good people will also have to pay the price.
No rational society would voluntarily deconstruct itself on behalf of an inferior culture. It is beyond understanding. It is clearly happening throughout the western world.
Now that the Australian ruling class has subdued, chastised, and threatened the racist, non-muslim population of Autralia into submission on behalf ot the muslim minority, the relentless march into dhimmitude can resume apace.

I wonder how the nursing director Judy Davis would feel if she were fired, after all, the unmarried, muslim, male patients cant expect to be touched by an unclean woman, much less a non-muslim caucasian.
How is that PC goodness feeling now, Judy, as you stand in the unemployment line?

Robert, do you call shrimp prawns now? Paul Hogan (who throws 'em on the barbie) called prawns shrimp to sell Oz to USA. Plus, I thought shellfish were also haram.
I've got a menu suggestion to the turkey (sniggle)who made this decision: reverse it. Have bacon at breafast everyday, prawns or pork pie for lunch, and choice of ham or pork chops followed by Jewish cookies for the evening meal. AND play "Eat It" (Wierd Al Jankovic) at mealtimes.

What a bunch of morons! Do they really think that preapring food halal means anything.
For the uninformed the process is as follows..are you ready? Here goes;
"Leh ileh il allah u muhamed rasul allah" (There is no god but allah and mohamed is his prophet) and then the animal is slaughtered by one single strike across the jugular and left to bleed to death.
WOW!! Food tastes better already!!
Guess what I DO NOT BELIEVE THAT ALLAH IS GOD OR THAT MOHAMED IS HIS PROPHET...I beleive that allah was a pagan god and because mohamed was so stupid he did not know better, in fact mohamed was a peodiphile and I do not want to eat food prepared in his name...end of story damnit!!
Put ham back on the menu and let the muslims go to Saudi Arabia for health care...or let the Saudis build them a hospital right next to the mosque they will almost certainly build or better yet...LIE TO THEM AND TELL THEM THEIR EATING SPAM!!!

There's something not right with this story. According to the article, a spokeswoman said:
"no patients had complained, but the Health Department was aware that staff at Port Hedland were unhappy.
"We are aware that staff would like ham for Christmas lunch, and this will be provided by the hospital," the spokeswoman said.
It appears that the staff has won. And if the hospital administrators are now willing to offend Muslims this Christmas, perhaps the ban wasn't all that necessary in the first place.

Worse things than no ham in a hospital have been done to please the Muslims.
Just look at the design of the Euro notes.
Not a Greek statue, not an European animal, not a single portrait or face. Only maps and architectural motifs, nothing substantial reflecting European heritage.
Truly a note fitting for Eurabia. Euro notes could have been designed by a hard-line Muslim graphist.

They can't impose the halal meat on other religions. This is from an East London paper last months about what happened when a school dinner contractor used halal meat in all it's meals. Sorry about the long address. Someone here once sent me a site where I could shorten the address but my computer wouldn't wear it.
The Recorder revealed two weeks ago that Initial Catering Services, the borough's biggest contractor for school meals, was using halal meat in dishes without telling school cooks.
It meant Sikh children were unknowingly being given halal products that their parents said their religion forbids them from eating.
In the halal process, conscious animals are slaughtered by cutting through the jugular vein while prayers are recited.
The issue sparked nationwide debate on internet forums and within the Sikh community as a whole, while chairman of think tank Sikhs in England, Harmander Singh, of Wellesley Road, Ilford, called for a public apology.
That apology finally came on Tuesday, in a statement issued by Initial's head office that read: "Initial Catering Services apologises unreservedly for any distress caused to the Sikh community in Redbridge".
The Sikhs know how many beans make 5.

Personally, the thought of eating any halal food makes me sick. The practice seems quite barbaric to me, and quite unnecessary. Maybe it made sense a long time ago to ensure that roadkill was not on the menu - I don't know.
I am somewhat ignorant about these matters and I do not know a great deal about the differences between halal and kosher foods.
I would not like to think that I was offending any Jewish people by the remarks in my opening paragraph.

Anyone who kills any creature the way that the jihadists behead their victims(the same way that they kill their sheep) has no sensitivity and is a barbarian, be he jewish, Muslim Christian or whatever.
Personally I think that this "difference" in the way that an animal is killed , and whether it be holy for "a" or holy for "b" is an absolute load of rubbish and if they were starving i wonder just how fussy they would be.
But knowing the relgious zeal of so many people, including those here, I suppose that they have a right to this expectation, barbaric or not, in their own country.
But when they migrate elsewhere, as far as i concerend it is "stiff sh*t". Either put up with it starve or leave.
I have just about had it with PC and those who suck to noisy, violent minorities.

You know, in the States I've had the pleasure of halal chicken, after collecting all the WAMY pamphlets at the Halal market and "engaging" the shopkeeper with my shorts and otherwise inappropriate appearance. Now, having worked in chicken barns as a callow youth, I have no illusions about what goes on in the commercial chicken biz. But at least in the South, halal chicken is half the price of chicken in the supermarket, not filled with all the processing chemicals, thoroughly drained, and downright tasty. I could care less about the Imam's role, I just know good chicken when I find it.
You know, has anyone considered making something similar to a Jack Chick tract with the core messages of Islam in it? With the intent of appealing to two audiences, one the ignorant infidel, and the other the stray Mussulman who may actually have the temerity to read it (two tracts may be needed). The Chick tracts are truly atrocious, eye-wateringly funny in all the wrong ways--but one tract that contains in 8 or 16 tiny pages all the infidel needs to know about the Islamic threat, and another that is nothing but contradictions in the Koran and Ahadith, could be mighty useful.

While I was in the Middle Eastern countries,I have personally witnessed the crewsome religious 'halal' killings.The goats were dragged by their two hind legs to the spot where the Mulla cum butcher stands with a sharp thin knife in his hands. He forcibly grab the head and twists it ,so that he can run that knife throgh its wind-pipe. He mutters 'Bismilla'.( I kill in the name of Allah).It will jump high and low,and is left to stuggle,bleed and die a slow painful death-while the other goats are watching grief-striken. This ritual killing of 'slitting the throat' must also tobe applied for any human revenge killings to any Enemy of Allah too.

Northern Australia is driving itself into anihilation with political correctness certainly with this silliness regarding Christmas fare and also with the Aborigines. As a normal law abiding, loving human being I can now be driven to despair because to say anything that is not in the government handbook cannot generate discussion just punishment.
I don't like this world much anymore because we are burying anything that might offend minorities instead of discussing it.
By the way it is usually done in an underhand way so that the person at the centre of the matter is the last to know.
