Jihad Watch reader Nicolei, who kindly sent this in, comments: "The Iraqi Christians are just as poor if not worse off than the Iraqi Muslims. Yet the Christians don't resort to suicide bombings. Have the Muslims ever wondered why the 'evil Zionists and Americans' had not or could not recruit any of the poor Christian widows and children whose husbands and fathers were killed by the Muslims to be suicide bombers to exact revenge against the Muslims?"

Baghdad, 23 June (AKI) - Poverty, social deprivation and widespread unemployment are making women and children across Iraq vulnerable for recruitment as suicide bombers, according to a report released on Monday.As recently as Sunday, a female suicide bomber killed at least 15 people and wounded some 30 others in the central city of Baquba, north of Baghdad, local police were quoted as saying.
Baquba is the capital of the volatile al-Qaeda stronghold of Diyala province.
"There around a million widows and hundreds of thousands of marginalised divorcees. This is made difficult by onerous procedures to receive social welfare, which is inadequate for the large numbers of impoverished women," said the report.
The report was published by Iraq's Rights and Constitutional Freedoms Observatory, which describes itself as an independent research institute.
"Furthermore, the grave economic and social crisis coupled with unemployment has led to the breakdown of traditional family structures, placing upon many women the economic burden of keeping their families," the report said.
Extremists can lure women embittered by the loss of their husbands and children in acts of violence, according to the report....

Gee, the difference would be that muslim women are taught from a very young age they aren't worth a crap. If one is told every day they aren't worth anything, it does not surprise me that they would be more open to doing something very destructive to themselves to gain a little something. This is how cults work in their most basic terms.

I am starting to believe that islam is at is source an etiology of hate for infidels.
The muslim is best defined as anti-infidel. Rational people tend to define groups by their characteristics. We have difficulty defining islam as a religion or a cult. The reason islam is difficult to define or explain in this way is that it is a passion. Islam at its source is an etiology of hate for infidels.
It is only by analyzing islam’s hate of infidels that we can make any sense of people who practice islam. Islam is an oversimplified conception of the world in which the muslim or anti infidel sees not a conflict of interests but the damage which an evil power (the infidel) causes in society.
Islam is not a religion or philosophy in the commonly understood sense of the word. It is not a point of view based rationally upon empirical information calmly collected and calibrated in an objective manner. It is not an idea.
Rather like Sartre’s analysis of European anti Jewish hate, so too Islam may be characterized by a similar analysis. To its followers islam is first of all the practice of a passion of infidel hate. It is an involvement of the mind, but one so deep-seated and complex that it extends to the physio-logical realm, as happens in cases of hysteria. Islam is hysterical infidel hate. How else can one romanticize the murder of infidels, except by hysterical hate?
Islam (and its hate more broadly) is, among other things, a way by which the muslims lay claim to the community in which they reside.
Until we confront muslims to see islam for what it is and write a definitive portrait of the anti infidel or kuffar hate for muslims, the sooner we may be able to challenge muslims to rationally break away from their passion and hate of infidels.

Whereas the West is predicated on the Judeo-Christian world view that specifically calls the community to care for widows and orphans (Malachi 3:5 and James 1:27), Islam apparently has no such requirements of the larger community.
For all the money the US has poured into Iraq, certainly someone could have thought about caring for the more unfortunate.
I guess that the women were likely made widows and the children made orphans because the fathers were jihadis that faced the US and other allied military or were targeted by opposing islamic factions.

No Islam causes suicide bombers. The Hadith and the Koran teach Muslims to become suicide bombers and kill infidels to further the cause of Islam which will give the bomber a pass to paradise and the status of a Martyr.

And yet the Persian Gulf states are awash in oil billions. And these states are Islamic -- just like Iraq (and Sunni) -- and they are Arab --just like Iraq. Why aren't they helping their fellow Moslems and Arabs? The oil sheiks seem to be sadly deficient in the giving of alms -- one of the "five pillars" of Islam. I'm sure the Iraqis get more help from the kaffir West than from their co-religious.

I guess when you're poor, and you're treated like dirt, and you're oppressed by your own people, and also, when you go to your mosque and the imam or sheik is continually telling you to be a martyr for "allah", you may be more likely to do it.
Reminds me of the cereal commercial -- if you eat our cereal as part of a healthy diet, you may receive some health benefits.
In other words, the cereal doesn't really do anything significant; it's the healthy diet. And poverty doesn't really do anything significant; it's all of the other factors.
Of course, we haven't even considered the obvious answer to this question: if islam didn't cause such poverty, then we could elimnate poverty as a possible cause.

There may be some truth to that, but why is it that Christian women/children in Chicago, for instance, in similar conditions, are not blowing themselves up for Christ? It's because there are no Christian texts demanding that kind of activity and no priests encouraging it. And what's even worse is that the average Christian is not into murder/suicide for God. The Christian God does not demand human sacrifice. But the desperation of a poor muslimah could be exploited as a final means of pleasing Allah and ending her suffering by a blast, and quick trip to paradise. Islam has already conditioned her mind to accept such acts, now she just needs to be convinced Allah would be pleased if she jumps off the edge...so she jumps...

Our politically correct political leaders including renon-Islamic religious leader (particularly the church leaders in the West)need to know and be convinced.
Rationality is not a strong point of Muslims. If it was, over 1.3 billion Muslims today would not have accepted a man who at the age of 53 took a nine years old for a wife to be consistent to the behavior of the most holy prophet. Nor would they accept a man who condoned the rape of women captives as the most holy prophet.
Muslims knows what Islam is - submission to Allah's will as revealed in the Koran and the sunnah. Anything human laws and human systems (such as the western style democracy) are to be rejected. Islam - its laws and systems is to be promoted so that Islam reigns supreme. Muslims are prepared to die for this because Islam teaches and inspires them to do so. Robert have shown so often that even moderate "rational" Muslims cannot see that the problem lies in the classical Islam that is so well supported by the Koran and Sunnah.
Today the US troops are dying in Iraq and Afghanistan just to support and protect one bunch of Muslims who want to be ruled by the Sharia laws against another bunch of Muslims who also want Sharia laws. And President Bush still think that he can successfully promote western democracy in those countries.

I wouldn't be too quick to say that social deprevation doesn't have something to do with female suicide bombings. How else can they escape the misery of the Islamic social systems they're trapped in?
Even poverty-stricken Hatian women can have hope of escaping their poverty, but Muslim women have no hope of escaping the women-hating world of an Islamic society, except by suicide.

And what good has it done? We should have let Saddam keep Kuwait. Sure there are a few thousand Kuwaitis who love us but our going in there to "liberate" them didn't accomplish much more than that. How many Americans might be alive today, to say nothing of Iraqis murdered by their fellow Muslims? Manhattan might be whole. Maybe SA would be under Saddam's control. Would we be any worse off than we are today if that were the case? It's hard to see how.

For those who can see through tbe BS, Gulf war I was faught by American money and blood, to save Bush's extened family in Riyadh. As soon as Riyadh was safe, the war ended. Any co-incidence there?
And Americans thought their presidents work for American tax-payer!
