Ireland: Muslim who set fire to pub while screaming ‘Allahu akbar’ says he did it to warn against insulting Muhammad

Once Ireland fully adopts Islamic blasphemy laws, Abdullah Khan and the rest of Ireland’s new overlords won’t have anything to complain about.

A self-described jihadist who set fire to a pub owned by Conor McGregor and later stabbed a garda on a Dublin street while shouting “Allahu akbar” told detectives he was inspired by the founder of Islamic State, Musab al-Zarqawi, and had pledged his allegiance to the terrorist organisation.

A sentencing hearing at the three-judge Special Criminal Court also heard on Monday that Abdullah Khan (24), who describes himself as a Salafi jihadist, is part of a “wider group of people of a like-minded mindset”. Det Insp Gavin Ross of the Garda Special Detective Unit (SDU) said an investigation is ongoing, with lines of inquiry still open….

Ross said that when Khan was asked for the motivation behind his crimes, he said he wanted to send a message to McGregor and others with a “right-wing mindset” not to insult the prophet Muhammad. He said he was angry that the State allowed people to insult the prophet, and attacked the garda to show his anger and make his protest known.

He said he had listened to speeches by al-Zarqawi, who was killed in 2006, and was inspired by them. He said he found al-Zarqawi “charismatic” and his message resonated with him.

Khan, with an address in Dublin that cannot be published due to a court order, previously pleaded guilty to eight charges. He was charged with committing arson on July 25th, 2025, at the Black Forge Inn, Drimnagh Road, Dublin 12, by pouring petrol on the front door of the pub and lighting it with a match.

He was charged with assaulting Garda Gary Lynch, causing him harm, and attempting to assault Garda Patrick Nevin, four days later, on July 29th, at Capel Street. He was further charged with producing a knife during the same incident and two counts of endangerment.

Khan was further charged with two counts of engaging in terrorist activity or terrorist-linked activity on the dates of each offence.

Det Sgt Liam McLoughlin told the sentencing hearing that Lynch and Nevin were on foot patrol near Little Britain Street in Dublin city centre when Khan ran up behind them carrying a knife. He stabbed Lynch in the arm while shouting “Allahu akbar”….

Khan spoke of being motivated by insults against the prophet by “people with a right-wing mindset” and said he was angry at the Irish State. He described such insults as “outrageous and unacceptable” and said they made him sad and angry. He said McGregor had helped the far right to grow in Ireland so he held him responsible for the insults.

He said he wanted McGregor to know that he was “playing dangerous games”.

When he attacked Lynch, he said he did not expect the garda to die, but he wanted to “injure him to make the point”.

He added: “This was a message to the Irish Government that if, under the name of free speech, you insult our prophet, there will be people who are angry.”…

    The wisest course of action is to treat ALL Muslims as potential violent Jihadis; to ban the theology of Islam as the cause of that violent Jihadi behaviour; and just as St Patrick is said to have once driven the snakes out of Ireland, drive the modern day snakes out of Ireland.

    The comedian recounted Monday a call that he had with a streaming service about two weeks prior, in which the company pressed him on a joke about Muslims in his special.     “They come back in a week, they go, ‘We gotta do a conference call … They go, ‘Yeah, we got some bad news there. We reviewed the special again. We’d like to take out the Muslim joke.’”

    Normand asked them why.

    “And they go, ‘Well, last time a comic did a Muslim joke we got bomb threats, we got death threats, they said they were gonna kill us, ruin the whole studio, blow the place up to smithereens, so we’d like to not use the Muslim joke.”he joke off social media — but only if the company agreed that Muslims were a “dangerous people.”
    “And I go, ‘Well I like the joke, it kills, it’s a hot joke … So I was like, I gotta fight for the joke here, folks.’”

    Normand says the company agreed to keep the joke in the special itself, but wanted it removed from social media.

    “And I was like, ‘Okay, okay, I don’t love it but okay, I will take it off on one condition … I go, I want you to admit, on this call, that they’re a dangerous people,” Normand said, referring to Muslims.

    “And they were like, ‘What, no, what are you, crazy?’”

    “And I’m like, ‘You gotta admit it or I’m keeping it, or I’m posting it,” said Normand, adding that he was “half joking.”“And they go, ‘Well, we’re not gonna do that,’ and I go, ‘Why not?’ And they go, ‘Well that’s offensive.”

    “And I go, ‘That’s what the call is. You’re calling about this and I just need you to say it out loud’ … But it’s kind of a microcosm of the whole thing. You can say, ‘Hey, I love this group,’ but then you don’t live near them. You know, we’re all talk, we’re all signaling, we’re all virtuous, but you don’t actually act that way. And I think this is a perfect example of that. ‘Hey, we’re scared. Hey, we don’t want to get Hebdo’d. Hey, we’re nervous.’ Okay, well why are you nervous?””

    There is no upside to Muslims in any Western nation, rather like Marxists or Neo-Nazis in any Western nation. All are a drag on the West at its best because Islam, Marxism and Nazism are totalitarian ideologies and so much of the best of the West has been involved with directly countering opponents of liberty, which the West has explored more than any civilization or society ever has.

    Yes, totalitarian ideologies like Islam, Marxism and Nazism should be allowed to function in the West to prove, a la Thomas Jefferson’s assessment respecting how a free society can allow in its society those who are enemies of freedom. But it came with an implicit caveat by Jefferson, to wit, ideologies which are enemies of liberty must be accurately described for the rot they are. Not there yet with Islam, now are we? Whether in America or Ireland or….or….or…..

        My hatred of Ireland, fervent before, has become incandescent. I hope those contemptible scum DROWN in the Muslim blood-tide that is going to overwhelm them.           Unfortunately there is some (relatively) friendly fire that is bound to occur here. That friendly fire involves my intemperate use of language in the above, and the overgeneralized conclusions and slur that I used.

          The nation of Ireland has chosen a side in a war in which they have no real interest (they don’t “have a dog in that hunt”), other than their disgusting moral preening, and that war may conceivably lead to a second Holocaust. I will NOT recant my hatred of Ireland, because THEY started this whole hate-exchange. The only mitigating statements I will make for myself are:
          1) I have often said that I am aware that there are good non-Jew-hating Irish in America and Ireland. But their compatriots with their ever-present keffiyehs sorely try one’s tolerance.
          2) I will try earnestly in the future to refrain from using emotionally-triggered slur phrases. My rational brain tells me that they serve no purpose other than to give more ammunition to the haters of my people.

          So… take that as a weak apology. Or not.

Note my comment on the brilliant Brendan O’Neill, whom I assume (possibly incorrectly?) is of Irish background. O’Neill is one of the great – and probably very lonely – British voices, like Douglas Murray, who are going against the insane current of our times.

    Faithful Muslims who don’t just read the Quran, they follow what the Quran tells them to do.
    We unbelievers are insulting Allah and his Prophet just by our existence and unbelief.
    The punishment for insulting Allah, or the Prophet, is death.

    The crime Khan should have been charged with was
    “Practicing His Religion as commanded in the Quran”.
