Being a retired college professor and local historian of 50 years, I have not been afraid to cite history on Facebook. I had also just been appointed by my mayor to our local historical commission. I usually post helpful information such as how to get free solar power by putting up solar panels, as well as information on the new hydrogen cars, which are better than EVs, because they only emit water vapor, no harmful pollutants. I also post information about the worsening environmental crisis.
Being a veteran as well as a historian, I have occasionally spoken out in order to honor our service members and veterans, and how they have fought for our freedoms. And I sometimes point out that there are groups today that are working to take away our freedoms, such as the freedom of speech. I have mentioned that we veterans who served in some countries sometimes witnessed or heard firsthand about the abuse of women and girls. Also, some of us soldiers had the misfortune to have had Islamic jihadists put bombs on children and send them to us Americans to ask us for chocolate. Some of our brothers died trying to save the children’s lives. Some soldiers even witnessed the slow, painful stoning of teenage girls because they had “dishonored their family” by being gang raped while going to the bathroom. Soldiers, especially the ones on embassy duty, were not allowed to intervene.
After coming home, I tried to understand the whys, and discovered that honor killings were still happening around the world by the thousands, and in even in the USA, often disguised as suicides or accidents. I began to occasionally cite the history about these, and the history of Islam, and would cite statistics about honor killings on Facebook. I became a social worker for the Red Cross, and was exposed to many sad stories. I also sometimes shared just as few popular opinion memes on Facebook. One showed a foreign woman sitting, and making her child sit, while everyone else was standing for our National Anthem. The opinion expressed was: “If you won’t support America, which gives you a home and freedom, perhaps you should return to from whence you came.” Nothing I shared or wrote insulted or bashed anyone, and I don’t hate Muslims, as I was later accused of doing. In fact, I often expressed the following:
Last month, a Facebook user went back ten years and dragged up many of my shared memes and my citing of history such as “Religions in general follow God, but cults follow a human, like the Jim Jones cult,” or “Islam follows Muhammad, who was a warrior who robbed caravans and sold people into slavery.” The Facebook user filed a petition to recall our mayor, because she had previously appointed me to our historical commission. This was denied by the court within about a week.
Almost immediately, I began getting bashed and called names. It hit the front page of our local paper, and the next day the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) jumped in. That also hit the local paper.
Many people did not bother to check out what I really said and just called me nasty names. But I believe that it was still a victory, because many people did see the truth about Islam from other posts that were made. Perhaps they will heed my warning about the freedom of speech being eroded and about hate speech laws.

You have certainly hit the nail on the head eloquently sidestepping land mines in relating your personal experiences and knowledge of Islam.
Free speech is the ultimate weapon. Islam knows this which explains someone taking the time to go back to expose your fb posts and CAIR getting involved. They must silence speech and put fear in those spotlighting Islam. Even lone individuals making fb posts.

I correspond with some prisoners in US prisons via the Internet. One of the born-again believers in his readings found some of the puzzles of Islam, and he asked me questions about Islam because I spent years living in dar-al-Islam and read the Qur’an from cover to cover when doing a paper in graduate school. I answered him with direct quotes of surah from the Qur’an, which are still active in the faith and some which had been abrogated by 2:106. The watchful eyes in that prison now block my incoming emails because of the “hate speech” against Islam, and nothing I wrote was anything except direct quotes from the Qur’an. Censorship for the craziest reasons seems to be everywhere now.

Typical Muslim tactic. The best defense is a good offense. They know the true history of Islam, invented by one man, (supposedly), and attack anyone who tell the truth about his barbaric lifestyle, as recorded in their koran and hadiths.
Jim Jones, David Koresh, Marshall Applewhite, and Mohammed all religious cult leaders.

Koresh, Jones and Applewhite grouped with mohammed? LMAO

They were all murderous–Mohammed, if he existed historically, has just been far more homicidal, and his followers are still killing in his name today.

God bless you for being a truth teller, and thank you for your service to America, to Americans. Our country would soon be lost without people like you.

I am truly sorry for the various uninformed accusations against you. The anger and hatred against truth present in society is frustrating and sad. I just try to remember Jesus’s words, We fight not against man but against powers and principalities in this world. Evil powers are controlling so many peoples minds and hearts and hey fight against trut.

Stand your ground brother and stand TALL! Be proud not arrogant. Truth is truth.
Let the mindless tinhorns spout off as they will. Who cares!?!? It’s typically those who speak loudest that have nothing of value to say.

The green/red alliance is alive and well in our universities and social media. It will take a gargantuan effort to route the deceivers and traitors out.

You still have a Facebook account? They are one of the worst platforms when it comes to the tolerance of anything “islamophobic”. It’s why I’m not on that platform

Jesus was hated, had lies told about Him again and again, and was murdered because He wouldn’t stop telling the Truth.
Peter and John were threatened by the Sanhedrin and told to stop talking about Jesus. They replied, “We can’t stop talking about the things we have seen and heard.” And they told the reason: “We obey God as ruler, rather than men.”
Anyone who is persecuted for telling the Truth, is in good company.

Sadly, far too many people, even those you consider intelligent & open to opposing viewpoints, scoff when you try & warn them about the threat Islam presents to the world & all civilized societies. Presenting them with verified, iron-clad proof, oftentimes in the spoken words of Imams themselves have no effect on their pre-determind opinions (and I’m labeled an Islamophobe).

Lucky you’re not a UK resident, or you’d have received a visit from the British constabulary by now. And likely a woke judge will have sentenced you to two years imprisonment. God bless America and the second amendment.
